Waylon is cooler!!
The hell you say! What's cooler than this?
I love this song. Not ashamed to admit it.
I used to rub it out to Dolly Parton.
Relevant to the topic. And fucking hilarious.
A great fucking song. Kenny has had a lot of good songs but this, Just Dropped In and Lucile are a few of his best.
Damn, now that I think about it there was Tomb Of The Unknown Love, 20 Years Ago, She Believes In Me....
Quite a few.
You gotta know when to hold 'em--
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
and know when to run
These lyrics from "The Gambler" apply to a LOT of things in life, I find!
That's not his arrangement - it's Mickey Newbury's.
Mickey Newbury was the Jimmy Webb of Nashville until they kicked him out.
He wrote that song and half dozen other hits & cross-over hits.
Great song, though -no argument there.
Made The Big Lebowski for me.
There's also his version of Mel Tillis's "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town" -that's cracker paradise Vietnam Vet stye
A country Vietnam song. I always liked it.
When it comes to threads, sometimes you need to learn when to fold em.
I swear, the next one is gonna be great!
Remember when Kenny was like the biggest star in the world around 1980-ish? Those were good times...
