The caller asked when Artie is going to come in. Howard said Artie has a book out and he's got his own radio show going on. Howard said he's very happy for Artie. He said he's a good man. Robin said he's engaged too. Howard said he used to be Artie's wife but now he has an actual wife. Howard said he saw Artie on Jimmy Fallon and he was great.

Howard will always find a convenient distraction to prevent him from having to answer a question he doesn't want to answer ("What's he saying, Robin?"), but lately the callers have been giving him really easy outs. Either they break down and say they love him and they're just busting balls, or, like today, they just won't shut the fuck up and let him talk. We all know Howard's never going to answer any of this stuff truthfully, but at least make him work for his excuse not to.

:backlol: No he doesn't. He has a girl who pretended to be love him and be his wife so she could get a book deal, get in magazines, on TV, and live a rich life. What is he blind? I guess her best friend Katie Lee loved Billy Joel too?

The Marksfriggin writeup is a little confusing. Howard was saying that he used to be Artie's wife, but now Artie has an actual wife.

This "silent treatment" that Howard now gives when a caller brings up a topic he doesn't want to discuss -- I wonder if that's something he picked up from Beth.

Does Howard play the commercials for Artie's book?
I heard the ad on Opie & Anthony today.

I heard this today. Howard actually admitted that he was not going to have Artie back. He supposedly was going to answer why, but then the caller said something. Howard turned it around and said "Well, if you are going to talk over me instead of giving my reasoning, I am not going to tell you." Once again, avoiding speaking to why he will not have Artie back.

Fake calls where he lets them draw out little tidbits of info and then they stay polite and compliment him. Fake fake fake fake fake.

It's Bullshit, Jackie was allowed back. It must be a liability issue and above Howard's pay grade. It's Sirius CEO and the legal department making the decision.

I am continually amused and stumped by Howchie's beer can analogy. Jeezus, Red Bull can-thick would be too much! :c

P.S. I thought his handling of the caller was shitty and the "Artie's a good man" claim was about as sincere as a serial killer's statement of remorse.

Well, it only took nearly 4 years to get a definitive answer out of the geeky-looking pelican. Now there is officially no reason to ever again listen to the Howard Stern Show.

Now if only the Artie Lange Show was better...
