    When it came to reading stories to the kids, there were some children's books that I didn't particularly care for. But none did I despise like The Giving Tree. What an anthem for losers.

    I hated that kid so much growing up that he literally shaped who I am today but I also knew that I never wanted to be like that tree and be a little b**** and be walked all over

    I know lots of people, not just here, feel this way about this book. But at the risk of getting dumped on here, I gotta tell ya, I always LOVED this book. :shucks:

    It's award winning children's literature. Maybe it's just the teacher in me :dontknow:
