"Ever been to the Hoover Dam?" she asked as a car commercial highlighted the icon last night.

    "No"

    "We'll I've been there 3 times and I still don't get it."

I didn't marry her for her mind.

It was on my to-do list but then I found out it had been destroyed by an earthquake in 1978.

It took 178,784,290,497,710,588,116,094 bags of concrete to build Hoover Dam... All supplied by Home Depot and mixed & poured by hand via 278,680,591 Mexican day laborers hired from their parking lot...... TRUE story

Been there.. Pretty neat. I figured the trip saved me two grand as it got me away from the bj tables in Vegas for a day.

Not true. It wasn't Mexicans at all. In fact I found this photo of them mixing up the concrete for The Hoover Dam....

This is true.....It's almost done.....Another thing I found interesting....The man who designed and carved Mt. Rushmore said that it will take 300,000 years of natural erosion for it to reach it's finest visual state.....Now that's really thinking ahead.......
Here's the "Curing" ie. the hardening of the concrete....A little ways down the column.....

And here's Mt. Rushmore....The PBS documentary was excellent!!!
