The Howard Stern Interview(1992–1993) back on E! was the one on one Stern celebrity interview back in the day..
Sadly for Stern unlike Sirius that show had ratings or lack of there of which got the show shit-canned after one season.

I bring that show up on the last dawgshed to @The Jackie chair and @SomerSky - while we were talking about Howard being obsessed with Garry Shandling . I don't think @GatGirl69 was on yet - it was very early in the bullshitting.

That's the real Howard. He enjoys interviewing celebrities and put up with the edgy material to do it. The guys such a phony.

Are you suggesting Howard put him in B company?

It's almost an amazing list of mostly b-level actors/comics and some formerly A-list bands but a million miles more interesting than Chelsea mudshark-Handler. Back then he would take anyone who could get him ratings but as most of us have said, he had a face made for radio.

People tune in see either funny (not Wiggy) or good-looking (ditto).

There was one with Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley that was pretty decent.

Let's face it, he has been a complete failure on TV, with the exception of the E! Show, which was just a video version of his radio show (when it was good) and the Channel 9 show, which had a very limited audience, but was fantastic.

That venture quickly slid into obscurity until Phil Hartman was murdered by his wife and Howard raced to rerun that interview during his regular E! show spot.

They were all bad but the most disappointing interview was the one with Milton Berle.
Howard wouldn't stop talking about Berle's salami.

^^^ Mostly this. Even when I was a fan, I thought his forays into TV were lazy and high-school comedy-level.
