Share whatcha got. Wigdick related because this is actually a cool music genre, not the weak-ass-pussy stuff he listens to...
i love the crap out of jazz. i went from 100% rock and roll to 75% jazz. the list is endless. every time i listen to pandora i find 5 new artists that i love. i like space music too. new age, what ever it's called these days. camel, van der graff generator, oregon... so much music, so little time.
If you ever have some time for a long listen, check this out This is probably the best jazz album ever made IMO
I am a Bill Evans mark and love Charlie Haden. Beyond the Missouri Sky with Pat Metheny is one of my 3 favorite albums regardless of genre
Charlie Parker is my favorite musician with an instrument in his hand. Ella Fitzgerald is my favorite voice of all-time.
i never thought i'd get into jazz but then the used cd store was selling a ton of used Blue Note cds a few years ago and I picked them all up just for the hell of it (they were cheap and the covers are cool). turns out I like jazz. I like the smoky sounding slower jazz usually more than fast stuff or weird free jazz
I know this is probably stupid to say to real jazz guys but the soloing gets to be too much sometimes. I realize that's the overall point of jazz but often I just really like the head and the melody and don't need 8 minutes of soloing. some songs should be shorter in my stupid opinion.
I listen to the Sound Opinions podcast once in a while. the hosts can be a bit annoying and I usually don't even care about the music they talk about too much but overall I like the show. they just did a Rock Fan's Guide To Jazz which might interest some people
