As I kid I wanted to live in that house.
I wanted to be Herman.
My favorite Munsters moment wasn't on the show, it was when Fred Gwynn and Al Lewis appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Fred was drinking from a flask to keep warm, got crocked and began shouting out "Fuck you!" to all the waving fans.
Might find this interesting if you have a spare 45 minutes...
I never knew that. He is my hero.
Watched that many times. Fucking Batman ruined them.
Herman loved Lily.
The unaired pilot in color is CRAZY. They were definitely going for a more Addams Family vibe from Lily.
ya think it would be as funny in todays world ?
Munsters=perfect, in every way!!!
I especially dug how they treated the gorgeous Marilyn like she was the freak, and the cast change of Marilyn intrigued me too.
There is no one period that can play herman the way fred gwynn did. For that matter al lewis and the (vaudeville jewish grandpa) is also not replacable. How that show only lasted 2 years is a mystery. then again great shows like car 54 and bilko and the honeymooners also did not last that long.
The best munsters episode period.
as an adult i still do.
I liked when Herman and Grandpa found the secret chamber in the dungeon and Herman says, "There's something written on the wall. Uh, you'd better look first, it might be a rude word."
Love The Munsters. Fred Gwynne was perfection as Herman.
I wanted a Woof-Woof doll!
(By the way, Car 54 was my other favorite show from that era. Never missed either of them!)
I have watched every episode 20x at least.
My kid the same. Actually 20 times might be off by 30
addams family rules, munsters drool!
The episode where he runs into the crooks and he says 'oh! its the nice men from the dry cleaning establishment'
