Has anyone seen this yet? Took my 8 year old to see it today and it was haarible. I didn't expect much but it was pretty crappy and of course true to form some of the new heros were an Asian woman, an American woman and they made Dr. Okun a homo.

How the hell did Dr. Okun come back? Didn't that alien strangle him?

Going to watch it tonight. Don't have high hopes other than the nostalgia factor. Going by the previews it looks like they did the best they could to edit out Will Smith Lite, so there is some hope.

I'm pretty sure you don't go to this movie expecting Citizen Kane. Shit getting blown up, shitty catch phrases and the creepy looking fly man.

It bugs me how the first one was supposed to be based in reality as if aliens attacked in the present day.

In this second one, the human race has advanced well beyond current tech because of what we learned from the last time around, so none of the weapons we have are real or anything, I don't know why, but that bugs me, how different this one is than the last.

Why would they even bother making this if Will Smith wasn't on board?

I wasn't expecting a masterpiece but it would have been better with Smith. Fox should have shelled out the dough. He wanted 50 mil for 2 movies.

I can't wait to watch this movie! I remember being 10 years old and watching the original, my friend and his dad loved it! So did I!

Me too. I remember being in the theater when I was 13 and thinking how the humans were going to come out on top. this one unfortunately misses the mark on capturing the despair and enormity of the situation.

I usually save this kind of tripe for business travel. Is it worth a couple bucks to toss it on the iPad for even that purpose?
