My Australian working holiday visa work permit doesn't allow me to work in one place for more than 3 months at the same employer, so it's time to move on to the next place. Island life has been awesome, but I want to see more of this amazing country.

I'm torn... should I go to Perth? It's supposedly an amazing city with great surfing and lots of things to do... rated one of the best places to live and work in the world. It would be a good place, no doubt, but there's cool cities everywhere.

Another option would be working at an outback roadhouse. Do some short order food shit... work the bar, and clean the place up. It would be simple work an it'll be boring out there, but then again, I'll meet some characters for sure. It will be an adventure.

Or, the third option, work at a farm. It'll be good money and free accommodation, but most likely heavy, shit work. At the same time, doing this for 3 months will allow me to extend my visa for another year. 3 months of working almost without spending would be good too. Friends of mine have walked away with over 10 grand in their account when they were done.

It would be good to save up some serious money, since I want to go to South East Asia next, and after that visit the USA.

    Decisions, decisions.

    Which area are you, sir?

    I'm currently in Northern Queensland.

It's heating up here... phew! Even at 7PM with the sun down it's still sweaty... or "sticky" as the locals call it.

I live and work in Nebraska, USA. Even though the politics suck ass, the bugs suck and it's ridiculously hot, I'd trade to live in Australia. I knew an ex gf from Australia, which is the big reason. The womenz.

Being a surfer, I'd lean towards Perth, but the prospect of learning a trade on a farm puts it over to top for me.

Also, Western Oz is where all the big great whites like to hang out.

I would go to Perth. Being out in the middle of nowhere is not appealing to me. I would get way too bored way too fast. Places like that can be interesting to visit for a little while, but not for three months. But that's me, you might be different.

I guess if I really needed the extra year visa I might do the farm. But that would be the only reason. I mean the money is nice too, but I'd rather live somewhere I like and save money slow than live somewhere I can't stand and save money fast.

If you work on the farm would you be near a bigger town or city that you could visit regularly? That would be a little bit better.

If you're a surfer and you're in Australia, there's a place I've been hearing about. It's called Bell's Beach. Twice a century, a huge storm comes out of Antarctica, tearing up the Pacific and sending a huge swell North. When it hits Bell's Beach, it'll be the biggest surf this planet has ever seen!

Just keep in something in mind... If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price.
