Dam 3 years ago around now it became shit (moving to Direct tv). Was curious how many of you guys actually liked it?

IMO it was extremely underrated and a great show from January 2012-July 2012.

    Yes, great show.

Nick cut off segments too quickly, and artie dragged them on too long, but other than that, was some quality entertainment.

Id take the Directv show at this point.

I agree. Nick loved to make things to awkward and talk about politics to much to ever make the show successful. Artie had no work ethic and would crowbar in the same joke alot. That said I loved the show.

Btw anyone know of an Artie lang show archive somewhere.

Also anyone interested in the Nick and Artie archives. I have the whole archive set Ill send it to someone if they put it on youtube (i don't want to go thru the time process).

Yeah, the Fox test show. It's a great listen, they were great together. Together they were better than the sum of their parts or some shit, whatever the fuck it is they say. As Jon says Artie was a lazy fuck and Nick was too political, and they needed each other. You can sort of see that on their current shows - Nick gets carried away with the political stuff and Artie works a 4 day week, if we're lucky. But they kept each other honest. Before Nick started losing it over Obama's re-election and Artie started pissing in wastebaskets, they had some damn fine shows. One of my favourites was the pre-Super Bowl Nice Coaches visit. Contrast that with the Nice Coaches' later visit, around Obama's re-election, and Nick makes you cringe, just full of piss and venom. I don't know how long it would've lasted, but I know I'm not alone in wishing they could've kept it going a little longer.

I miss it, I wish Nick and Artie would combine podcasts every now and then. Right now Nick's Dipaolo's podcast is second to Bill Burr's podcast in my opinion.

Back then I saw more than one person post on twitter, here, and elsewhere that N&A was on its way to being a replacement for the Stern Show. I was only a casual Stern listener so my opinion means shit, but it sure was great while it lasted.

Loved the fact that they were Boston/New York rivals, it was always great to hear about an epic Red Sox loss knowing that Artie would be there that night shitting all over Nick. Even Artie's Boston song was good, though most of the other song parodies they did were crap.

Gonzo, Rod, both funny guys who made the show better.

Even some of the sports guys they had on the phone were good, I wasn't into the sports aspect but they usually made things interesting. Mac Engle? - hated Jews, Jeff Deforrest- funny guy who could riff along with N&A, Jodi Mac- funny sometimes as well.

I really wasn't much of a fan of the show after they left the small studio; you could tell that the air was slowly being let out. Was it the plan the whole time to debut the show as it was and then turn it into "Late Night with Artie"? That never made sense to me.

Might have to listen to some old shows tonight.

Jeff Deforrest was a great fill-in and that led me to listening to his own show with Steve Goldstein.

I agree, getting that big studio was the worst thing that could've happened to them. They could've been as big as Dan Patrick by now.

I thought Gonzo was Colin Quinn.

Hilarious when Gonzo was so busy with a "Rip Out" that he couldn't talk for long.

I thought he was a comedian for the longest time..... But I'm convinced he's just some guy from Jersey...... Love his use of the term "colored girl".

Totally right about the big studio killing the show. Its incredibly noticable the second they left they would spend an hour each show talking about 3 team teases (its fucking unlistanble ).

    This is Gonzo: https://twitter.com/WritingComedy
Pretty hacky jokes there on his twitter, not much of a comedian. Funny as fuck as Gonzo though.
