He says people love when he impersonates his parents. REALLY? Just listened to Mondays show (I know, it's on in the background at work) and he went on for 12 straight minutes. The thing that kills me is it's the EXACT same material every time! When he does his mothers laugh my fuckin' skin crawls and it makes me angry. Don't know why it has that extreme of effect on me but it does.

Whew, I feel better now. Rant over. :)

Howard still has listener emails from 2003 that said that they love his impressions of his parents for proof that listeners love the impressions.

He looks a lot like his dad wearing a wig, so there's that.

If I still listened, it would be the highlight of the show for me.

I stole this analogy from someplace that I can't recall...

It's like going to a Sting concert. The first dozen songs are filler from his last 3 albums that you haven't bought. Then he plays a jazzy acoustic version of Synchronicity II and a version of So Lonely backed by an African choir from from Zimbabwean school for women. It wasn't what you hoped for, but at least you know the words. Then more minutes of filler before he half-asses Roxeanne and hustles off of the stage.

Not the show you paid to see, but it's what you should've expected at this point. Stuart Copeland ain't walking through that curtain any time soon.

I sometimes think its funny but I hate when he talks about the parents sex life. It's way too creepy for a guy to think that much about what his father does to his mother sexually.

Like his whole toolbox - tired and unfunny. But he's sworn off much of what he used to do. Shit, they even tried a Carnack a month ago and it was awkward and bland.

It really pisses me off when he talks about his time in 'Nam.

I find it disrespectful to the real guys who were there.

Agreed, it's awful. Howard just repeats the same lame jokes over and over, like his father saying "What?" It's so bad you know what the next line is going to be before he even says it and it drags on way too long. Just like everything else on the show, it may have been funny once but now it's just pathetic.

It went from being the super funny 15 years ago - to being AS lazy and irritatingly redundant as the sound of Marianne from Brooklyn's voice.
