    The McStay Family

On February 4, 2010, a neighbor's surveillance system recorded the McStay family car leaving their home at 7:47 pm; the vehicle's occupants cannot be seen.[5] At about 8:30 pm a call was placed from Joseph McStay's cell phone to his business associate, Chase Merritt. The call went to voice mail; Merritt told police he ignored it because he was watching a movie. Joseph's cellphone pinged a tower in Fallbrook.[6]

During the next several days, family and friends unsuccessfully tried to contact the McStays. On February 13 Joseph's brother, Mike, climbed into an open window at the home. He did not find his brother's family, and the family's two dogs were unfed in the backyard. Police were notified two days later of the family's disappearance. Although a search of the home found no evidence of struggle or foul play, there were indications of a hasty departure: a carton of raw eggs on the counter and two full bowls of popcorn on the sofa.[2][7]

During their investigation, the police learned that on February 8 the family's 1996 Isuzu Trooper was towed from a strip mallparking lot in San Ysidro, San Diego, near the Mexican border. It is believed that the vehicle was parked there between 5:30 and 7 pm that evening. At 11 pm security guards assumed that the vehicle was abandoned, and it is unknown where the car was from February 4 to February 8.[8][9]

After their disappearance it was speculated that the McStays left voluntarily, since investigators found searches for "What documents do children need for traveling to Mexico?" and Spanish language lessons.[13] Because of the proximity of the parking lot where their vehicle was found to the Mexican border, police reviewed surveillance footage of the pedestrian gate into Mexico. Video recorded the evening of February 8, released on March 5, showed a family of four resembling the McStays crossing the border into Mexico. On February 19, 2010, California police notified Interpol to be on the lookout for the family.[2]In April 2013, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department announced that it believed that the McStays traveled to Mexico voluntarily.[14] Several unconfirmed sightings of the family were reported in Mexico and elsewhere, keeping hope alive that they were safe and had left voluntarily.[11] Relatives of the McStays doubted that they would travel to Mexico, saying that Joseph and Summer avoided the country because of the safety threat posed by recent drug wars.[13] Other critics of the theory noted that the McStays had over $100,000 in bank accounts, with no withdrawal of funds in preparation for a trip, and their accounts were untouched after their disappearance. Summer's sister said that Summer's passport was expired.[15]Although it is possible to enter Mexico without a passport, a passport is required to reenter the United States.[11]

The mystery deepened when rumors spread that, despite substantial bank holdings, the McStays experienced financial difficulties in the months before their disappearance. A former neighbor told The Daily Mail that the family was on the verge ofeviction just before purchasing their $230,000 home in Fallbrook. Investigators and family members deny finding any evidence of financial problems.[16]

On November 11, 2013, a motorcyclist found four sets of human remains buried in two shallow graves in the desert nearVictorville, California. Two days later, the remains were identified as those of the McStay family.[2][4] Although the deaths have been ruled homicides, their cause of death has not been released because of the ongoing investigation.[24] Days after the discovery of the bodies, Joseph McStay's father said that the police investigation was faulty and he had filed formal complaints in 2011.[25]

    Maura Murray's disappearance.

Some time after 7:00 pm, a Woodsville, New Hampshire, resident heard a loud thump outside of her house. Through her window she could see a black Saturn sedan up against the snowbank along Route 112, also known as Wild Ammonoosuc Road. The car pointed west on the eastbound side of the road. She telephoned the Grafton County Sheriff's Department at 7:27 pm to report the accident.[14] At about the same time another neighbor saw the Saturn as well as someone walking around the vehicle. She witnessed a third neighbor pull up alongside the Saturn.[10][14]

That neighbor, a school bus driver returning home, noticed the young woman was not bleeding but cold and shivering.[14] He offered to telephone for help. She asked him not to call the police (one police report says "pleaded"[14]) and assured him she'd already called AAA.[6][10] (AAA has no record of any such call.[14]) Knowing there was no cell phone reception in the area, the bus driver continued home and phoned the police. His call was received by the Sheriff's Department at 7:43 pm.[14] He was unable to see Maura's car while he made the phone call but did notice several cars pass on the road before the police arrived.[15]

At 7:46 pm, a Haverhill police officer arrived at the scene. No one was inside or around the car. The car's windshield was cracked on the driver's side and both airbags had deployed. The car was locked.[14]Inside and outside the car he discovered red stains that looked to be red wine.[10] The officer found a damaged box of Franzia wine on the rear seat. In addition, he found an AAA card issued to Maura Murray, blank crash report forms, gloves, compact discs, makeup, two sets of MapQuest driving directions (one to Burlington, Vermont, another to Stowe, Vermont), Maura's favorite stuffed animal, and Not Without Peril, a book about mountain climbing in the White Mountains.[14][17] Missing were Maura's debit card, credit cards, and cell phone, none of which have been located or used since her disappearance.[9]

At 8:00 to 8:30 pm, a contractor returning home from Franconia saw a young person moving quickly on foot eastbound on Route 112 about 4 to 5 miles (6 to 8 km) east of where Maura's vehicle was discovered. He noted that the young person was wearing jeans, a dark coat, and a light-colored hood. He didn't report it to police immediately due to his own confusion of dates, only discovering three months later (when reviewing his work records) that he'd spotted the young person the same night Maura disappeared.[18][19][20]

Just before 8:00 pm, EMS and a fire truck arrived to clear the scene. By 8:49 pm, the car had been towed to a local garage. At about 9:30 pm, the responding officer left. A rag believed to have been part of Maura's emergency roadside kit was discovered stuffed into the Saturn's muffler pipe.[14] Authorities would only refer to Maura as missing the next day, almost twenty-four hours after she was last seen

This video was uploaded by "112dirtbag" on Feb 8, 2012, just before the anniversary of Maura Murray's disappearance. It was taken down hours later.

    From Youtube

For anyone wondering why this is thought to be connected to Maura's disappearance:
It was posted on the 8th anniversary of her disappearance. Also, the guy who originally posted it had the username "Mr112dirtbag". 112 was the number of the street she disappeared on, and in a later interview, Maura's father said that she might have been kidnapped by "some dirtbags." Lastly, mr112dirtbag had posted some other videos, one of which was simply called "Maura Murray". IIRC, it was some random video showing a ticket to a ski resort close to where she disappeared.

Mysterious visits, thefts recall Chula Vista's Rickie Ann Blake

By Kathie L. TaylorTRIBUNE STAFF WRITER
    April 11, 1991

Since the death of their 14-year-old daughter five years ago today, Bill and Alicia Blake of Chula Vista have been getting bizarre phone calls from a man who claims to know details of the unsolved murder.

Sometimes the caller will play Rickie Ann Blake's favorite song: "With You All The Way," by the New Edition. Sometimes he'll recount Mrs. Blake's comings and goings. And other times he'll claim to know precisely how Rickie died.

Oddly, the family looks forward to the eerie phone calls.

"I won't change my telephone number, because eventually he's going to trip up," Mrs. Blake said. "Eventually, he's going to say something. It may take me the rest of my life, but eventually I'm going to know who this person is who's calling. So, I figure as long as he keeps calling I have hope that someday he'll be caught."

The calls haven't been the only disquieting incidents for the bereaved parents.

Several pieces of the teen-ager's boxed clothing have disappeared from the couple's garage. Other items have mysteriously appeared on her gravesite and at the Blakes' Chula Vista home. And a friend of the slain youngster, who gave police a statement during the early part of the investigation, has refused to allow police to interview her further. A San Diego police official said the girl is not a suspect.

Through it all, the Blakes have lived with the grief of having lost their child. Her bruised and strangled body was found five years ago today beside the Main Street exit ramp of state Route 15.

Mrs. Blake remembers the hours before her daughter disappeared. "Rickie was watching a Padres' game on television -- she was a big Padres fan -- and was talking on the phone to her friends," she recalled.

Mrs. Blake said she went to bed about 9:30 p.m. Her other daughter, Alicia Marie, arrived home a little after 10 p.m. Around midnight the phone rang. Alicia Marie answered. The call, for Rickie, was from a man who identified himself only as "George."

Rickie went into her bedroom to take the call. It was the last time that family members can recall Rickie being in the house. At 5 o'clock the next morning when they awoke, she was gone.

"From the time Alicia Marie gave Rickie the phone until 5 o'clock in the morning when the alarm went off, we don't know what happened to Rickie," Mrs. Black said.

"She disappeared leaving her shoes behind. ...They found her later that night at 10:10 p.m. on the side of the freeway."

What has been learned since then is that Rickie had been beaten and stuck in the trunk of a car. Her body had been carefully placed beside the exit ramp in full view of passers-by.

Little else is known of what happened during the hours in which the girl had disappeared, said San Diego police Lt. Hank Olais, who as chief investigator of the case has interviewed family members, friends and more than 100 of the teen-ager's fellow students from Bonita Vista Junior High.

"What occurred during those 24 hours remains a mystery," Olais said. "The one problem we've had is that one friend refuses to talk to us. My opinion is that the friend could have information involving the perpetrator.

"She has refused to give us time to conduct additional interviews with her, but then, that's her choice," Olais said of Rickie's friend.

Bill Blake says he believes that whoever killed his daughter lives nearby.

"We've had people break in and take things of Rickie's," he said. "Little things come up missing from the garage, from boxes labeled as Rickie's clothes."

Olais says the investigation stalled in part because a crime scene hasn't been found.

As for "George," he apparently made a number of calls to Rickie -- some of them obscene -- in the months before her death. Other students at Bonita Vista Junior High School also reported calls from a man named "George" in the months after her death.

Neither police nor the family knows if George is the man who has continued calling the Blakes. Police had the Blakes' phone tapped, but Olais said he could not comment on whether police are still trying to trace the phone calls, which usually start a couple of days before Rickie's birthday, March 14, and go on right up to the anniversary of her death.

The man usually calls around 3 a.m. or 4 a.m., and he will only talk to Rickie's mother. Anytime Bill Blake answers the phone, the anonymous caller has hung up. "We know it's him because of the odd hours," Mrs. Blake said.

"Once, we got him to really start talking," she said. "He started off with, 'Do you want to know how Rickie was killed?' And I said, 'No, I don't want to know, I'd like to know who did it.' And he goes, 'Well, let me tell you something.' And he starts telling me, 'You were up at the cemetery. I saw you. I was up there, too.' "

Rickie's grave at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Chula Vista shows signs of strange visitations.

Once, the Blakes found a small gift box containing a necklace with a heart-shaped pendant. Another time they found pocket change on the grave. And once they found pieces of clothing that looked as if they came from a man's shirt. The clothing pieces were stuffed into a vase and placed on the grave.

"I use to be scared, but I'm not scared anymore. There's nothing you could do to hurt me anymore," Mrs. Blake says as if talking to the killer. "You've killed my insides. You can't kill me anymore."

Man To Be Sentenced For 1986 Murder Of Rickie Blake

A former Gary, Ind., man who kidnapped, raped and killed a 14-year-old Chula Vista girl in April 1986 is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.

A jury on Nov. 8 recommended that George Williams be put to death for molesting and strangling Rickie Blake.

Superior Court Judge David Danielsen is expected to go along with the jury verdict. He could, however, elect to sentence Williams to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Williams, 49, was convicted Sept. 28 of first-degree murder, rape, kidnapping and special circumstance allegations that the girl's murder occurred during a rape and kidnapping.

Prosecutor Jeff Dusek told jurors that Williams -- a registered sex offender -- took Blake from her home, raped her then dumped her body along a freeway offramp.

Defense attorney Steve Wadler urged the jury to spare Williams' life, saying his client would die in prison no matter what the sentence.

Wadler said Williams committed all of his crimes while intoxicated, but Dusek said alcohol was not a factor in Blake's murder.

Williams was implicated years after the murder through DNA evidence. In January 2003, the state Department of Justice informed police that Williams' DNA was matched to sperm found on the teenager's body.

The Original Night Stalker (ONS) is the name given to am unidentified serial killer and rapist who murdered at least ten people in Southern California from 1979 to 1986.
The crimes initially centered on east Sacramento,at least fifty woman were sexually assulted in Northern California from June 1976 to July 1979.The perpetrator was dubbed the The East Area Rapist (EAR).
In 2001 the Northern California rapes were linked by DNA murders in Southern California.

The Original Night Stalker (ONS) / The East Area Rapist (EAR) was never apprehended, several suspects have been cleared through DNA,alibi or other investigative means and methods

This is the recording off one of the victims answering machine, which the police believe to be the original night stalker. this recording was taken off the documentary:

Murders in Southern California (Goleta, Ventura, Dana Point, and Irvine, California) were not initially thought to be connected. One Sacramento detective strongly believed the East Area Rapist was responsible for the Goleta attacks, but at first the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department attributed them to a local career criminal who had himself subsequently been murdered. Investigating the crimes that did not occur in Goleta caused local police to follow false leads related to men who had been close to the female victims. One suspect, later acknowledged to be innocent, was charged with two murders. Linking all of the cases together was achieved almost entirely by DNA testing, which was not done until many years later.[3]

    • On October 1, 1979, an intruder broke in and tied up a Goleta couple. The attacker alarmed them by chanting "I'm going to kill them" to himself. When he left the room, the man and then the woman made attempts to escape during which the woman screamed. Realizing the alarm had been raised, the intruder fled. A neighbor, who was an FBI agent, responded to the noise and pursued the perpetrator, who abandoned the bike he was on and fled on foot through local back yards. The attacker also abandoned a knife at this point. The attack was later linked physically to the Offerman-Manning murders (see below) by shoeprints and the same roll of twine being used to bind the victims.[3]
    • On December 30, 1979, Dr. Robert Offerman, 44, and Debra Alexandra Manning, 35, were found shot dead in bed at Offerman's condominium on Avendida Pequena in Goleta. The bindings on Offerman were untied, indicating he had apparently lunged at the attacker. Neighbors heard the gunshots but failed to respond to them, attributing them to innocuous causes. The killer brought a white German Shepherd Dog (with a missing toe) with him and fed it leftover Christmas turkey from the victims' home. The killer also broke into the adjoining residence, to the west of the crime scene, which was vacant at the time, and stole a bicycle. The bicycle was later found abandoned on a street to the north of the crime scene.[3]
    • On March 13, 1980, Charlene Smith, 33, and Lyman Smith, 43, who was about to be appointed a Judge, were found murdered in their home in Ventura. A log from the fireplace was used to bludgeon both the victims to death. Their wrists and ankles had been bound with a drapery cord. An unusual Chinese knot, known as the diamond knot, was used on their wrists.[3]
    • On August 19, 1980, Keith Harrington, 24, and Patrice Harrington, 27, were found bludgeoned to death in their home on Cockleshell Drive in the Niguel Shores gated community in Dana Point. Although there was evidence that the Harringtons were bound at the wrist and ankles, no ligatures, or murder weapon, were found at the scene. The Harringtons had been married for three months at the time of their deaths. Patrice was a nurse in Irvine, while Keith was a medical student at the University of California, Irvine.[3] Keith Harrington's brother later spent $2 million supporting California Proposition 69 (2004).[6]
    • On February 6, 1981, Manuela Witthuhn, 28, was murdered in her home in Irvine. Again, while the body showed signs of being tied before being bludgeoned, no ligatures, or murder weapon, were found at the scene. The victim was married, but her husband was recuperating from an illness in the hospital; thus she was alone at the time of the attack. A lamp and crystal curio were removed from her house, presumably by the killer. Also, detectives remarked that Mrs. Witthuhn's television was found in the backyard, which was possibly the killer's attempt to make it appear as a botched robbery.[3]
    • On July 26/27, 1981, Cheri Domingo, 35, and Gregory Sanchez, 27, were bludgeoned to death in the Domingo home on Toltec Way in Goleta, several blocks south of the Offerman-Manning crime scene, with a tool taken from a small shed in the backyard. Sanchez was also shot, but not tied up. Police thought Sanchez may have realized he was dealing with the man responsible for the murder of Offerman and Manning, and made a desperate attempt to tackle the killer rather than be tied up. As in the Offerman-Manning case, no neighbors responded to the sound of the gunshot. The killer's dog was also present at this crime scene.[3]
    • On May 4, 1986, Janelle Lisa Cruz, 18, was found bludgeoned to death in her Irvine home. Her family was on vacation in Mexico at the time of the attack. A pipe wrench was reported missing by Cruz' stepfather and was thought to be the probable murder weapon.[5][7]

http://psywarrior.com/wanderingsoul Also known as "Ghost Tape Number 10" was an audio mix the US military used for psychological operations in the Vietnam War against the North Vietnamese. It played deeply on the Vietnamese belief of ancestor worship, spirits and the afterlife.

The Wandering Soul was played on loudspeakers installed on helicopters, PCF boats or by infantry 'loudspeaker teams' on known enemy areas usually at night deep within the jungle.

"It exploited the belief among many of the Vietnamese people that once a person is dead the remains must be placed in an ancestral burial ground or that person will forever wander aimlessly in space. The tape was so effective that we were instructed not to play it within earshot of the South Vietnamese forces, because they were as susceptible as the Viet Cong or North Vietnamese Army.

Wandering Soul' broadcasts of eerie sounds intended to represent the souls of enemy dead who have not found peace (i.e. by being buried in the village family plot)...the idea was that the sounds would at least get a Communist soldier to think about where his soul would rest in the likely event of his being killed far from home." - LTC Raymond Deitch, 6th PSYOP Battalion Commander

"The damn reverb effect of the recording is eerie. I saw and picked-up leaflets and once heard Funeral Music played over the valleys around Landing Zone Mary Ann. A Kit Carson Scout told me what the music was. This was a ghostly sound. Hell, listening to that made me want to Chieu Hoi myself. It must have been effective as hell in the jungle at night." - Unnamed 1st Infantry Division sergeant 1968-1970

This picture of 14-year-old Regina Kay Walters was taken by serial killer Robert Ben Rhoades rght before he killed her, Robert who toured the country in an 18-wheeler equipped with a torture chamber in the back. This photo was taken in an abandoned Illinois barn, where Rhoades killed Walters after cutting off her hair and making her wear a black dress and heels

    The Lobotomy of Rose Kennedy

In 1941, when Rosemary Kennedy was 23, doctors told Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. that a new neurosurgical procedure, lobotomy, would help calm her mood swings and stop her occasional violent outbursts.[12]He decided that his daughter should have the lobotomy performed, however he did not inform his wife Rose until after the procedure was completed.[11] At the time, relatively few documented lobotomies had been performed; James W. Watts, who carried out the procedure with Walter Freeman, described what happened:

"We went through the top of the head, I think she was awake. She had a mild tranquilizer. I made a surgical incision in the brain through the skull. It was near the front. It was on both sides. We just made a small incision, no more than an inch." The instrument Dr. Watts used looked like a butter knife. He swung it up and down to cut brain tissue. "We put an instrument inside," he said. As Dr. Watts cut, Dr. Freeman put questions to Rosemary. For example, he asked her to recite the Lord's Prayer or sing "God Bless America" or count backwards..... "We made an estimate on how far to cut based on how she responded." ..... When she began to become incoherent, they stopped.[13]

After the lobotomy, it quickly became apparent that the procedure was not successful. Kennedy's mental capacity diminished to that of a two year old child. She could not walk or speak intelligibly and was considered incontinent.[14http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosemary_Kennedy

The Highway of Tears murders is a series of unsolved murders and disappearances of young women along the 800 km (500 mi) section ofHighway 16 between Prince George and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada from 1969 until 2011.[1]

[2] Police list the number of victims at 18, but estimates by aboriginal organizations range into the 40s, largely because they include women who disappeared a greater distance from the highway.[3]

    Keddie murders

Glenna "Sue" Sharp, 36, and her five children had been renting the cabin since November 1980. On the night of April 11, 1981, Sue was home with her daughter, Tina, her two youngest boys, and a friend of the boys, Justin, who was staying the night. Her oldest son, John, and his friend Dana Wingate, had spent the day in nearby Quincy and were also going to stay the night at cabin 28. John and Dana were last seen hitchhiking from Quincy to Keddie. The crime may already have been in progress when they arrived at the cabin.[1]

At approximately 7:45 am on the morning of April 12, Sheila Sharp, upon returning from the sleepover next door, discovered the bodies of Sue, John and Dana in the cabin's living room. All three victims had been bound with medical tape and electrical appliance wire. Plumas County Sheriff's deputies later determined Tina Sharp was missing from the cabin, after some confusion about whose bodies were in the cabin.[1]

Examination of the bodies determined that each of the victims had been bludgeoned with a claw hammer, and Sue and John had been stabbed repeatedly, including both being stabbed once in the throat. Dana Wingate was also manually strangled and bludgeoned with another weapon. An inexpensive steak knife discovered at the scene had been used so forcefully that the blade had bent approximately 25 degrees.[5]

The case grew cold, but in 1984 the cranium portion of Tina Sharp's skull was recovered near Camp Eighteen, a distance of roughly 29 miles from Keddie. Months later, after an anonymous caller to the Butte County Sheriff's office claimed the skull was Tina's, the Camp Eighteen area was searched again for several hours over a period of days. The jawbone and dozens of other bones were found, along with other potential evidence. From these discoveries, no new information regarding the crime surfaced in the media. The murders remain unsolved to this day.

You're on a roll, it's like binge watching Criminal minds, think they used the Robert Ben Rhodes one as the basis for one of their episodes this season.

    Disappearance of Amy Lynn Bradley

Amy Lynn Bradley (born May 12, 1974) is an American citizen who went missing during a Caribbean cruise on the Royal Caribbean International cruise shipRhapsody of the Seas.

At 5:30am on March 24, 1998, Amy's brother left his sister sitting on the outdoor balcony and entered his cabin. She was seen a short time later by other passengers riding in the ship's elevator with a member of the ship's band, Blue Orchid.[citation needed]

The ship was en route to Curaçao, Antilles at the time she was last seen. The ship docked in Curaçao shortly after she was discovered missing. Extensive searches on the ship and at sea produced no signs of her whereabouts.

Police investigated and discarded many theories regarding her disappearance. It is regarded as unlikely that she fell overboard and drowned, given that she was a trained lifeguard and the ship was close to shore at the time of her disappearance.[citation needed]

It is also considered unlikely that she voluntarily disappeared to start a new life. She had recently graduated from college and was anticipating starting a new job after she returned to her home in Chesterfield County, Virginia.[citation needed]

There were possible sightings of Bradley in Curaçao in 1998 and 1999. Two Canadian tourists reported seeing a woman resembling Amy on a beach in Curaçao in 1998. The woman's tattoos were reportedly identical to Bradley's. She has a Tasmanian Devil spinning a basketball tattoo on her shoulder, the sun on her lower back, a Chinese symbol on her right ankle, and a Gecko lizard on her navel. She also has a navel ring.[1]

In 1999 an American sailor reported that he went to a brothel on Curaçao and was approached by a young woman. She told him her name was Amy Bradley and asked for his help. At this point, two men in the bar escorted her upstairs. By the time the witness reported this to police several months later, the brothel had burned down

The case gained additional notoriety because the killers made video recordings of some of the murders, with one of the videos leaking to the Internet. The video known as 3 guys 1 hammer is known as the worst video ever posted on the
    internet...

Two 19‑year-old locals, Viktor Sayenko (Ukrainian: Віктор Саєнко, Russian: Виктор Саенко) and Igor Suprunyuck(Ukrainian: Ігор Супрунюк, Russian: Игорь Супрунюк), were arrested and charged with 21 murders

The first two murders occurred late on June 25, 2007. The first victim was 33‑year-old local woman Ekaterina Ilchenko,[8] who was walking home after having tea at her friend's apartment. According to Sayenko's confession, he and Suprunyuck were "out for a walk." Suprunyuck had a hammer. As Ilchenko walked past, Suprunyuck "spun around" and struck her in the side of the head. Ilchenko's body was found by her mother at 5 AM.[9] Within an hour of the first murder, the two men attacked their next victim, Roman Tatarevich as he slept on a bench near the first murder scene. Tatarevich's head was smashed with blunt objects numerous times, rendering him unrecognizable. The bench was located across the street from the local public prosecutor's office.[9]

On July 1, two more victims, Evgeniya Grischenko and Nikolai Serchuk, were found murdered in the nearby town of Novomoskovsk.[10]

On the night of July 6, three more people were murdered in Dnipropetrovsk. The first was Egor Nechvoloda, a recently discharged army recruit, who was bludgeoned while walking home from a night club. His mother found the body in the morning by their apartment building on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street.[10] Elena Shram, a 28‑year-old night guard, was then murdered around the corner on Kosiora Street.[11]According to Sayenko's taped confession, as Shram walked towards them, Suprunyuck struck her with the hammer he had been hiding under his shirt and struck her several more times after she fell down. She had been carrying a bag filled with clothes. The men picked up the bag, used the clothes to clean the hammer, and threw the bag out.[12] Later the same night, the men murdered a woman named Valentina Hanzha (no apparent relation to co-defendant Alexander Hanzha), a mother of three with a disabled husband.[10]

The next day, July 7, two 14‑year-old boys from Podgorodnoye, a nearby village, were attacked as they went fishing. One of the two friends, Andrei Sidyuck, was killed, but the other, Vadim Lyakhov, managed to escape.[11]

On July 12, 48‑year-old Sergei Yatzenko, disabled by a recent bout with cancer, went missing while riding his Dnepr motorcycle. His body was found four days later, with signs of a savage attack visible even after four days in the summer heat.[13]

Twelve more murders followed, often with multiple bodies found on the same day. In addition to the earlier sprees, two victims were found each day from July 14 through 16. Victims were seemingly selected at random. Many were vulnerable to attack, including children, elderly, vagrants, or people under the influence of alcohol. Most victims were killed using blunt objects, including hammers and steel construction bars. Blows were often directed at their faces, leaving them unrecognizable. Many victims were also mutilated and tortured, some victims had their eyes gouged out while they were still alive. One pregnant woman had her fetus cut from her womb. No sexual assaults on any victim were reported. Some victims were also robbed of their cell phones and other valuables, their possessions pawned to second-hand shops in the area. However, most victims had their possessions intact. The murders spanned a large geographical area. Aside from Dnipropetrovsk, many occurred in outlying areas of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.[14]

Bizarre story of pizza-delivery man blown up by collar-bomb

“I don’t have a lot of time,” he whimpered.

Pennsylvania pizza deliv eryman Brian Wells, 46, leaned against a police car in handcuffs and begged authorities to defuse the explosive device locked around his neck.

A crowd swelled around him. Police drew their weapons. A news camera rolled.

“Why is it that nobody’s trying to come get this off?” he cried.

Wells told police he wound up in the grip of the 30-pound necklace of death after delivering pepperoni pies to three thugs who forced him into the strange contraption and gave him a handwritten directive. Frightened, he followed the meticulous instructions, held up a bank in Erie, then embarked on a scavenger hunt for four keys and a deactivation code to liberate himself from the bomb.

But authorities nabbed him at his third, and what would become his final, destination.

That note also contained a macabre warning: His life could end in a second.

“MOST IMPORTANT RULE! Do not radio, phone or contact anyone. Alerting the authorities, your company or anyone else will bring your death. If we spot police vehicles or air craft [sic] you will be killed.”

The police discounted his tale and didn’t call in a bomb squad until nearly 30 minutes into the standoff.

    Wells grew more frantic.

“He pulled a key out and started a timer,” Wells warned cryptically. “I heard the thing ticking and it’s going to go off.”

“I’m not lying,” he pleaded. “Did you call my bosses?”

Cops moved the shackled, shaken man from the pavement of a parking lot to a patch of grass. Alone, Wells crouched and listened to the bomb ticking away as steady as a heartbeat.

He knew his time was running out.

Authorities in the distance remained wary of the collar bomb, which created an odd bulge underneath Wells’ T-shirt. They weren’t sure it was real until the moment it went off.

    It was a gruesome end.

The earsplitting explosion ripped apart much of Wells’ upper body in a split-second. Then the only sound in the ensuing shock and silence was airborne metal pieces clinking to the ground.

The bomb squad arrived three minutes later.

It’s been eight years, now. I still can’t believe she married me, and accepted my lifestyle and the prenuptial agreement. She really is a saint. There aren’t a lot of wives that would allow the things Ralph and I do.
I guess that’s why I don’t have a problem with the kitten infestation out east. It’s a $30 million house, and there are cats pissing and shitting all over it, but she’s a princess. She can do no wrong.
Well, it’s a Wednesday night, and I need to get rested up for the weekend. I think Laura will have to get me a new iPad. My goo dribbled onto the Ostrosky brothers video again, but I digress. Time to sleep.

    BLAM!

    WHOH, WHAT THE FUCK?!?

I can’t move, and I can’t see. Wait, what? I can’t move my hands or feet. All of my limbs have been tied down, and I’m blindfolded. This is all wrong. Ralph is in Jersey this weekend.
What’s this… A massive single hand is clutching my face, blocking my nose and mouth. I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe… HELP!!!
HOLY SHIT, that feels like a knife against my throat. Please God, NO!
AHHHHHHHHH, I’m cut, my fucking throats been cut. I can feel the blood squirting. This can’t be happening.

“I LOVE ANIMOES, I LOVE ANIMOES, I LOVE ANIMOES, I LOVE ANIMOES, I LOVE ANIMOES” is all I can hear now.
It feels like small pieces of sandpaper are rubbing my neck and face.

I’m feeling so very weak now. Time to sleep.
