Anyone seen this? I saw it last night and let me tell you....bad movie. Don't waste your time. There are so many problems with it is has you laughing. Leo gets mauled by a bear that is unsurvivable and should have died of hypothermia at least 20 times but keeps living and even sprinting and one point. And don't even get me started on how he got a nomination...there was no acting...none. He grunts, speaks in a native American language and basically crawls around in the wilderness. I think I am with the black actors at this point after seeing this mess of a movie.

I wanted to see it but, everything I've heard about it is negative.

    Long, boring, etc.

I'll wait for it to make it to cable.

A lot of the characters do spend a lot of time in ice cold water and never even notice it.

This thing got 12 Academy Award nominations. :dontknow:

I can understand the one for cinematography. You do notice the beauty of all the nature shots.

And Hardy is good. He does a good job of making you hate him.

The technical awards I don't really understand or care about it.

I just don't understand why this movie is getting so much good press. It's not that good.

What is it with most modern films being shit? The new kray film featuring tom hardy, raved about by critics, is fucking shit in my opinion as well. Having one actor playing two people twins or not was never going to work. If you know anything about the kray story you would know ron and reg were very different people, their builds were different as well.

As for the revenant , I left the cinema half way though, couldn't be bothered. Another load of crap that people raved about was 'paranormal activity', I remember people saying how scary that was, I actually fell asleep. Seriously I fell asleep. Jaws was scarier watching that for the first time.

It was a good movie, but they could have made it a bit shorter and not lost anything. I can only tolerate long movies if every second is relevant.

I came home to find my husband watching it on a 19 inch screen
The first question I asked was 'did the bear fuck him?' :giggle:

    everything this

what kills the movie, imo, is that Leo gets attacked right away, but, as he's the star of the fucking movie, you know he isn't going to die.

so what's the fucking point? why take an hour+ for him to heal (enough)?!?

There was absolutely no drama in watching him crawling around, moaning and groaning and struggling to survive.

It wasn't so much a movie as it was a 2 1/2 hour "ok, this is what Leo is willing to do for an Oscar" message to the academy.

It was good. A lot of brutality. A lot of unintelligible dialog. I wouldnt see it again, but it does show that humans sucked back then and they still suck. Thank you.
