I can see The Rock and RDJ even though almost everything out this year sucked. But, Steve Carrell and Billy Crystal? http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie...-furious-stars-lead-forbes-top-180937252.html 1. Dwayne Johnson: $1.3 billion 2. Robert Downey Jr.: $1.2 billion 3. Steve Carell: $964 million 4. Vin Diesel: $887 million 5. Sandra Bullock: $862 million 6. Paul Walker: $789 million 7./8. (tie) Billy Crystal/John Goodman: $743 million 9. Chris Hemsworth: $701 million 10. Jennifer Lawrence: $700 million It seems like just yesterday when Robin didn't think he'd make it. The last movie I saw with The Rock was that Walking Tall rip-off, and that was only because it was on a plane and there was nothing else to watch.
These lists are bogus. I don't hate the Rock, but he is #1 because he jumped into two established franchises in the Fast and the Furious series (which clearly is not his vehicle) and GI Joe (which they built around him). The two non-franchise movies he was in were either disappointments or busts. Pain and Gain only made about $50 million domestically which isn't horrible, but definitely a disappointment. Snitch did only $42 million although unlike Pain and Gain, it didn't open on over 3200 screens. Not to speak ill of the dead, but he is only on the list because of Fast and Furious 6. If he didn't do that movie, I doubt it would have affected the box office that much. Chris Hemsworth only got on the list for Thor and can't carry a film by himself. Rush only made $26 million. John Goodman and Billy Crystal are only on the list for Monster University. You know kids don't even know who they are and they are the ones who got them on the list.
I honestly couldn't tell you one movie that he's been in, but goo fo' him. I'm no fan, but I don't really have any hate for the guy.
