nothing. i just find the whole process fascinating. its something i first imagined ages ago when i got my first dot-matrix printer in the 1980s. Around 1990 IBM figured out how to assemble individual atoms using an special kind of electron microscope to pick up and place elements one atom at a time.

They used about 35 xenon atoms to print IBM which was really the first time anyone had used a device human sized to manipulate individual atoms/

I dream of combining the two ideas to use some sort of a 3d printer software to assemble atoms and build crystals one atom at a time, but very fast. Objects made of artificially assembled crystals (rather than carved and ground) basically will last forever: grown carbon crystal bones and teeth simply will not break, and will be 100% inert and perfectly tolerated in the body. We could have perfectly replaceable parts that do not age and do not break under pressure and stress.

So many things become possible once we can assemble the basic lego blocks and this is the way to do it; basically the same software will do it. we just have to adjust the printing scale, speed (if a chip can mine bitcoins in real time, it can print atoms in real time) and we need a way to pickup and move atoms: need something more appropriate than a scanning tunneling electron microscope, but we're almost there.

It will become popular when we can print a realistic functioning vagina.

why would we need that when the real thing is so plentiful and available?

getting it isn't that difficult. keeping it is. maybe we don't need to keep it but just lease it, like a car?

Oh shit, is it 2010 again? Hold on, let me go and place some quick sports bets!

Why don't you wolf down another box of twinkies, and stop worrying about making old news threads.

Listen old man, I already told you how this is going to get fixed, but considering all the tartar buildup on your brain, I'm not surprised you forgot. I'm also not surprised that you shit your pants on the reg.

The solution to this problem is to ban gun powder, and the components that go to make gun powder. Problem solved.

I'm smart. You are not, twinkie man.

you're an uneducated, senile., rummy asshole. you can't ban gunpowder: its made from charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter. How are you going to ban kingsford brickets, plant fertilizer, and bat shit?

you really are the dumbest of the dumb. its no wonder you are so belligerent and cannot get along with anyone irl.

quite possibly your biggest problem is that when people see you they think you look retarded, and then you open your mouth and prove they are right.

Lets see you convert some batshit to saltpeter.

Saltpeter, yeah, I walk by that shit in the supermarket every week, they always have sales on it.

Christ, I told you go eat a box of twinkies and go fix some broken servers. Enough stealing from your employer.

saltpeter is just so difficult to get.

a little known brand like Morton's (they also make table salt) sells it globally for $5/pound.

    so much for the rummy-retard.
