A picture of a Syrian boy goes viral, but the war goes on

You have probably seen this image, watched the video or both. A Syrian child covered in dust and blood sits in an orange ambulance chair, gray and alone. His stunned, mute face has been hailed a "symbol" of his country's devastation and suffering. His huddled frame was Photoshopped into pictures with world leaders, the latest emblem of the international community's failure to bring to an end one of the ghastliest civil wars in modern history.
The good news is that Omran Daqneesh, the young boy pulled from the rubble of an airstrike in the Qaterji neighborhood of Aleppo, is alive. So too, according to reports, are his parents and siblings.
The bad news is that the conflict that has hollowed out his home town, once Syria's most populous urban center, shows little sign of flagging. And that, beyond Omran's heart-rending rescue, there are too many stories of children who could not sit in that ambulance chair, looking back at the world's cameras.
I seent it.
That shit is sad as fuck.
That shit broke my heart.
When he reached up to touch his head and he saw the blood?
This shit has been going on for over 5 years now.
I have no idea how to fix this problem.
I don't understand the outrage that more hasn't been done by the US, and I'm not sure what the US is expected to do. We only seem to fuck up that region.
How many times you seen your kids in the back of an ambulance looking like that?
My guess is at least three 4th of July celebrations.
Attacking my kids?
I read an article that said that he didn't shed a tear until he saw his mom, then he broke down.
I can't imagine how traumatized he must be.
Our kids have it so good here. So good.
We should stay the fuck out of it.
We have NOTHING to gain from boots on the ground, which is the only thing that will win it.
Leave Asad in place.
Everytime we remove a dictator in the MidEast, things go from crappy to shitty.
I was glad when Obama didn't back up his line in the sand.
No, attacking you.
Look at you, getting all serious all fast.
Who hacked Dark Fridays account?
Nice parenting, assholes. Give your kid a bath.
The saddest part was when he wiped blood off his head and then looked around before he rubbed it on the seat. He's probably been told not to rub his dirty hands on things. Broke my heart.
Saw it. Couldn't look for long. Too sad.
Calm down, man. Calm down.
Wonder when he'll turn this trauma into hatred for the Jews and their infidel helpers in the USA?
The media is conditioning the mom jean squad to want to go to war with russia.
Dude... There's nothing remotely funny about that pic.
