For all those shitheads who think driving a race car while you're stoned is perfectly fine.

    The terrible truth about cannabis
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...y-demolishes-claims-smoking-pot-harmless.html

A definitive 20-year study into the effects of long-term cannabis use has demolished the argument that the drug is safe.

Cannabis is highly addictive, causes mental health problems and opens the door to hard drugs, the study found.

The paper by Professor Wayne Hall, a drugs advisor to the World Health Organisation, builds a compelling case against those who deny the devastation cannabis wreaks on the brain. Professor Hall found:

    • One in six teenagers who regularly smoke the drug become dependent on it,
    • Cannabis doubles the risk of developing psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia,
    • Cannabis users do worse at school. Heavy use in adolescence appears to impair intellectual development
    • One in ten adults who regularly smoke the drug become dependent on it and those who use it are more likely to go on to use harder drugs,
    • Driving after smoking cannabis doubles the risk of a car crash, a risk which increases substantially if the driver has also had a drink,
    • Smoking it while pregnant reduces the baby’s birth weight.

I knew all of this 42 years ago and is the reason I quit after smoking it after about 5 years.

They are an angry bunch, particularly when they're supposed to be such a mellow bunch.

Depending on how much is taken and the physical condition of the individual, alcohol can cause:

    • Slurred speech
    • Drowsiness
    • Vomiting
    • Diarrhea
    • Upset stomach
    • Headaches
    • Breathing difficulties
    • Distorted vision and hearing

    • Decreased perception and coordination
    • Unconsciousness

While drinking and driving has received a great deal of public and media attention, the relationship between alcohol and crime, for both offenders and victims, has not received the same level of public attention. The relationship between alcohol and crimes including domestic abuse and violence, underage drinking, robbery, assault and sexual assault is clearly documented.

FACT: 5.3 million adults − 36% of those under correctional supervision at the time − were drinking at the time of their conviction offense

Excessive drinking leads to criminal behavior:

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) estimated that a majority of criminal offenders were under the influence of alcohol alone when they committed their crimes.

Federal research shows that for the 40% of convicted murderers being held in either jail or State prison, alcohol use was a factor in the homicide.

FACT: Alcohol is a factor in 40% of all violent crimes today

About 3 million violent crimes occur each year in which victims perceive the offender to have been drinking. Crimes include: rape, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated and simple assault. About two-thirds of violent crimes are characterized as simple assaults.

Based on victim reports, alcohol use by the offender was a factor in:

    • 37% of rapes and sexual assaults
    • 15% of robberies
    • 27% of aggravated assaults, and
    • 25% of simple assaults

Who thinks driving a race car while high is a good idea??... While I believe that virtually ALL stoners are stupid and lazy, I don't think any would be stupid enough to argue that driving a fast car while stoned would be a wise idea

Most of that sounds accurate. I've smoked for 25 years, heavy for the last 15. I am incredibly angry when I'm driving. Doesn't mellow me out at all. If I get schizophrenia at this point, who cares, I'll be crazy. I won't know any better.

I smoke it like it's going out of style but I don't think it's safe or makes me a better driver but I don't do any harder drugs either. I also can't really drink much because of my stomach so I consider it a fair trade. Although I didn't drink booze with my coffee in the morning, every morning...

yeah, weed has it's problems, perhaps fewer problems than alcohol. I smoked heavy for years, and got practically nothing done for years, then stopped. Having said that, filling up jails and prisons with people who have a joint or an ounce of weed in their car is a waste of peoples life, and our resources. Decriminalize it.

I posted the stats to show how harmful alcohol is to society and the individual, yet is considered a "safe" drug even though it creates all types of mayhem. The fact that weed is illegal is ridiculous, it's effect on users is less deleterious than alcohol and by continuing to ban it we are feeding a black market which is causing even greater mayhem south of the border. That's why these anti-marijuana studies are silly, of course marijuana is not great for your body; all drugs have side effects.

I agree but i don't like the idea of either alchohol, drugs {legal or otherwise} in somebody's system when they're driving a 4000 lb. weapon anywhere near me of my family

2 wrongs don't make a right. I am for legalizing it, regulating it, and taxing the SHIT out of it.
