This thread is for all the things that you think are better than 'the standard' or 'the normal' choices most people make. It's to help others become aware of things that they may not be aware of.

    So for example..

Natural Peanut Butter is better! Sure the first time you have it, youre like 'wtf?', but once you embrace it, its supreme 'peanut butteryness', and realize that the thing you like about the 'normal' peanut butter is the hydrogenated (READ: unnatural) oil, you will learn to love "100% Peanut-Peanut Butter". (I actually like Natural Almond Butter better, and it's higher in protein and lower in fat.)

    Also,

ALL Atlantic Salmon is "farm raised", and farm raised salmon is total bullshit. Farm raised salmon is fed essentially dog food that is LOADED with beta carotene supplements (READ: carrots) that turn their flesh the orange color of their wild cousins. Pacific Salmon is ALWAYS wild caught, those fish went out into the wild fucking ocean, and returned (only to be captured by the worlds greatest predator!).

    Also,

The label "Organic" is basically bullshit. Uranium is organic. You wouldn't want your food grown in a field contaminated with U-235. Organic farming practices are GREAT things, but just because someone paid for a label, doesn't ACTUALLY mean jack shit, nor does a preferential tasting of one specimen vs another carry any validity, when they were obviously grown under ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES (beyond fertilization techniques). These personal taste test results are anecdotal at best.

im not really a cheese guy, nor do i really think Velveeta is actually "cheese" in a traditional sense.. however.

If youre going for creamy smooth chili con caso (Rotel and Velveeta), or any other "cheese sauce" type shit, dont cheap out, get the real Velveeta.

Pizza should be cooked on a stone, never a metal pan!

you can put it in a metal pan (aluminum sheet pan) and put that on your stone when your pizza stone inevitably cracks, I have gone through tons of these and usually they are way overpriced

velveeta really has no place in cooking beyond an american cheese burger, however.. If youre gonna use a 'cheese product', dont use cheap 'cheese product'.

Never done the "metal pan on stone". Ive cracked 3 stones in 5 years. Id still cook on that broken surface, its when its really shatters into 3+ pieces that it starts to become a problem.

Pizza stone + convection oven = perfectly reheated pizza.

The best way to reheat leftover pizza = put a slice in a frying pan and heat it on the stove top. It gives a nice crispy crust without burning the cheese on top. :grad:

Got two from Pampered Chef. They are now both jet black now and close to ten years old. The ones you get out of the store seem to suck. Don't know why?
