Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has woken from a coma and responded to members of his family, his spokesman said Saturday.

Gibb, 62, contracted pneumonia and fell into the coma last week. He is suffering from colon and liver cancer.
His spokesman Doug Wright said Gibb had been able to nod and communicate with family members who have been at his bedside at a hospital in west London.
He did not give further details.
The British star's wife Dwina said this week that the singer's brother, fellow Bee Gee Barry Gibb, had been singing to Robin to try to rouse him.
His three children had also been playing music to him, she said.
The Bee Gees -- twins Robin and the late Maurice Gibb and their elder brother Barry, 65 -- are among the biggest-selling groups of all time.
Robin Gibb had bowel surgery 18 months ago but a tumour was found and he was diagnosed with cancer of the colon and the liver.

Damn, I got to hand it to this guy. He looks like he has been dead for 10 years, falls into a coma, and still is hanging on. I was never a Bee Gees fan but I have respect for the "fight" this guy has.

I'll give Stern props when he's due: being a straight, red-blooded American male I always fucking hated the Bee Gees. But about 2008 or so (fuck checkers can look this up for me) Stern interviewed them and they were pretty awesome. They played a couple of acoustic versions of their stuff and I was stunned to hear how Beatle-esque it was. So thanks for that Howard and fuck you for pissing on your fans. Douche.

Hope he gets through it. The Bee Gees have been greatly underrated for many years.
    Fantastic songwriters and performers.

I was thrilled to read the news (and I'm sure his family is ecstatic), but colon and liver cancer? I don't know guys...I choose to receive the news with some (hopeful) trepidation.

Sure he can. All he has to do is try! At this point he's not even doing that.

BTW the vacation curse is over. It's now the "New Show Curse."
