Why did American lose so badly?
Difficult fighting in another country
They didn't nuke Hanoi
Watch Battlefield Vietnam. Great PBS documentary about the Vietnam War available on YouTube.
Americans STILL haven't learned their lesson. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was a hoax as was the WMDs of Iraq. Thank you.
Nothing to win.
With combat soldiers like this guy what did we expect?
Howard just missed the draft he turned 18 right as it ended.
You mean to tell me all those stories about his kills have no merit?
It's a whole thing. Don't ask.
Should have had these guys in charge of policy and let them do what it takes to win.
Instead of these guys
ever see the pictures of the place now?
it's all kfc, mcd's, coca cola , Hollywood movies
we sent 58000 kids to their deaths
killed a million and change Vietnamese or something like that
and all it took to beat them was shitty food, sugary soda, and whatever nonsense Michael bay is up to
We didn't exactly lose....politically we lost the will to continue and eased out. It's demoralizing to our forces to have to fight wars with rules from Washington. Imagine getting into the ring with a boxing opponent and suddenly there's a call from the local boxing commission and insists you have one arm tied behind your back. What do you mean we can't bomb Hanoi? After years of that kind of interference and military standstills Washington finally threw in the towel. They still don't know THEY still are the problem in US military situations. Look at the Mideast. My point is, it wasn't like we were overrun and conquered. The political support from home dried up.
Rules of engagement = pussification of military.
Too many distractions
Too worried about public opinion, and not enough about the troops fighting. Same as now, never fucking learn.
