I look around mostly using key words in Google and Yahoo. Some stuff I remember from years ago when I was on buses and planes a lot travelling and reading.

Looks like an excellent location to build a multi-chimneyed mansion with a huge closet.

I so wanted it to be true LT, but after a little research the photographer of those pics used a bit of dramatic license in his work.

Well all it says is the Lake does not turn them into stone in a matter of seconds. I figured that. But it does not say in that article that he doctored the animals in the pictures or they didn't die from the insane environment and die on the ground. It builds on then after being in the water and the area. But yeah, they don't turn to stone right away. But yes they were perched for photos. All I read. Still think it's cool. :dontknow:

    :umm:

"I took these creatures as I found them on the shoreline, and then placed them in 'living' positions, bringing them back to 'life,' as it were," Brandt wrote, referring to the way he repositioned the animals. "Reanimated, alive again in death."

That's not an acidic environment, a PH of 9 -10.5 is very basic (anything higher than 7 is a base, not an acid). But still very caustic.

Sorry, I'm on summer break and you can take the science teacher out of the classroom, but can't take the classroom out of the teacher.

Yeah I was typing that above. Yeah they die from the harsh alkalinity and form like that. Where else does this happen is what's amazing. Yeah I guess they were found on the ground and water in that environment and perched, but I still think it's cool.

It's not like the photographer painted the bird or made him look like that with his wings spread I think. There's no cracks in the body from pulling or tearing. Pretty shocking and cool I thought. But I guess all fake.
