"Jon Lieberman got an 18 on the Ugly meter aaaaaaaap" is the new jingle.
Wow.. just, wow.
This ranks up there with "Giftscriptions."
every app sold howard makes a penny
Crockett? The OG David Caruso?
...i think the ugly app has already peaked, someone should tell howard.
The owner said he was in the process of making new apps....I was a bit curious what exactly he would do next.
Then again, it was hard to hear him with Ronnie screaming every few seconds
The two did more than 100 radio interviews. Then came their most-prized booking: the satellite radio show of Howard Stern.
But a producer from the show told them the interview had been canceled because the producer figured out the app wasn't real. Informed the pair had purchased non-refundable tickets, the producer allowed them a segment, though Stern kept it short. Only Overline was interviewed. Allen didn't get to meet his radio hero.
So, Overline said, he decided to make a real version of the face scanner just so they could be invited back on Stern.
Overline built a program based on inputs about a person's facial structure, ignoring hairstyles and even the effects of aging. In this version, the face is rated on a 100-point scale and, in a reverse of the original Ugly Meter, the prettiest faces get the highest scores.
Overline kept tweaking the formula, based on the results it gave. If Jay Leno ranked higher than Brad Pitt, for instance, he knew the equation needed to be altered. He also weighed certain attributes, so someone wasn't harshly judged for certain features he deemed attractive, like larger-than-normal eyes.
He knew he had the formula right when he was able to scan in photos of the same person -- taken years apart -- and get similar scores.
Overline also scanned in several pictures of himself, getting consistently low scores, which didn't surprise Allen: "Look at that goatee," he said, staring at Overline. "And those freckles."
Overline and Allen made their return trip to the Stern show in March. Most of the show's staff was scanned, and Stern spent much of the show lamenting his low score of 34 out of 100.
Stern mentioned the Ugly Meter so many times, Allen thought, "If we weren't making $1,000 every time he said it, it would be annoying."
Overline returned to the Stern show for a third time Monday where he got in a shouting match with Stern's head of security, who was upset with his low score.
The new app -- which sells for $5 -- zoomed to No. 6 on Apple's app chart. The old, 99-cent app was at No. 4. Sales held steady, at least for the old one. For the week ending March 28, the original Ugly Meter was the No. 6 top seller.
Apple takes a 30 percent cut of each sale, Overline said. The men are not counting on high sales numbers to continue. Both still have day jobs. Allen, who scored in the high 20s on the Ugly Meter, owns a graphic-design firm. Overline, who scored in the low 30s, sells plasma lighting accessories for automobiles.

Easy to imagine that these two fagolas designed the app specifically for the most beautiful woman in the world. Beth's high score guaranteed more free publicity from the stork
The only things about the show that remain real are "hypocrisy" and "dishonesty!"
The only good thing about that ugly app. segment was the guy doing the talking got away with busting some serious balls, including Howard's.
...you mean like robins uber sexuality and how everybody wants to fuck her?
yep...the show has become ONE LONG INFOMMERCIAL
FILLED with commercials AND LIVE PLUGS....
Howard has RUINED Robin's news with all the INTERRUPTIONS Reading LIVE PLUGS every 2 minutes....
not to mention "working into the conversation"....HowardTV....AGT...AND don't forget the WRAP UP SHOW!!!
3 days of ROTATING these 3 topics!!!
the same stupid fights....
same stupid bits ...
over and over and over again..
today did u notice the BedBug discussion and DDT??? oy vey...I thought Howard was going to go off on the "hippies" again!
you think that caller was random?? or set up ???
for the last year it seems the show has become so predictable....so phony...
I'm hanging in til May....when Howard is promoting AGT on Today and The View etc..
then I think it's time to say "goodbye" to the show I have LOVED and been a LOYAL FAN of for over 23yrs!
Howard's not even into his own show at this point......that's obvious
peace & love
I hate that Ronnie has to play the role of the (they are making money off me) guy, thus having the listener feel that Ronnie is on their side and that he feels used just like the fans.
