He called me to see if he could borrow one of my trucks until they find it or he settles with the insurance company.

The last two times it was stolen, the cops found it 2 weeks and then a month after it was stolen.

Ever have a car stolen? Did they find it? In what kind of condition? If they didn't find it, did you get a decent settlement?

The last time they stole it, GEICO had actually already sent out a check and settlement offer when the cops found it. The check came in the mail two days later and my uncle had to send it back. He said it wasn't really that bad. He already had his new car picked out too. Poor guy.

    It was a Honda Accord.

The first time it was stolen, he had it double parked in front of a bakery with the keys in it. Some guy that just robbed a bank jumped in it and took off. They found it in Brooklyn 2 weeks later.

Second time was out of his driveway. That time it took a month. They found it in the Bronx.

This time was out of his driveway again.

They stole my friend's accord one time...the cop's found it like a week later about 20 miles away in Huntington Park, stripped of it's custom stereo, speakers & amps. I drove an '04 civic coupe for 7 years never had a problem. I guess the accord is popular with thieves.

The first time, he got it back in perfect condition. The guy most have stolen it, parked it and walked away from it. Nothing touched.

Second time, it had about $4000 worth of damage/stripped parts.

The first time he did. Ran in to the bakery quick. Left the keys right in the ignition.

The last two times, the keys weren't in the car. They stole it overnight out of his driveway.

My truck has been broken into so many times, I only WISH they would have stolen it. I've replaced the most expensive window about four times, a steering column when they tried to hotwire it, and the door handle area is also mangled from being jimmied.... Only ONCE did they actually steal my stereo and amps, the other times there was nothing IN the damn truck.......:pissed:

Yea, I've never had one stolen, technically, but I've had a few broken into.

Ended up with a busted window and out a bunch of tools quite a few times.

When I had my GMC van, they would break in to steal the computer from under the driver's seat. After 3, I finally had it welded in.
