We can't have gas grills on our terraces; am looking for recommendations for an electric grill that comes closest to gas (if one does at all).
    TY!

Fire Magic Echelon Diamond E1060s. When they give you a hard time, just tell them to stop being so jealous.

I'd go with the Weber-Q electric. It has a nearly 5 star rating on Amazon. I have the propane model and it's excellent.

I've never used an electric grill before, but I can't imagine it being any different than using one of these.

Is a terrace like a balcony?

i suppose that they don't want a bottle of propane on the terrace that might leak or explode in case of bad weather. if rain touches a sack of charcoal, it gets wet; if lightening (yeah right) touches a sack of charcoal, you might get a diamond but nothing is going to explode.

In my apt building they prohibit anything BUT propane. Weird.
