I went to Costa Rica this spring. It was my second time there. I stopped there the first time when I was in the Coast Guard.

I say go for it. I think it's the most beautiful place I've ever been to. Beautiful women, too.

Generally, the rainy season (or "green season") is from May to mid-November. Costa Ricans call this wet time of year their winter. The dry season, considered summer by Costa Ricans, is from mid-November to April. In Guanacaste, the dry northwestern province, the dry season lasts several weeks longer than in other places. Even in the rainy season, days often start sunny, with rain falling in the afternoon and evening. On the Caribbean coast, especially south of Limón, you can count on rain year-round, although this area gets less rain in September and October than the rest of the country.

Burning petroleum-derived jet fuel high in the atmosphere on your way to an "eco" vacation. :cheer:

Check out Volcan Arenal National Park. It erupted when I was checking into my hotel so I shit my pants but they are just small eruptions so you will be fine. There are jungles, ziplines, hiking, resorts, etc. to enjoy and it's relatively cheap. Corcovado & Guanacaste are nice but stay out of Limon.

Many Costa Ricans speak English compared to other Latin American countries so it's not a place where you have to travel on a tour like China or India. Therefore you can customize your vacation and not necessarily be locked into an expensive tour. We expect a Tica picture thread when you're back.

That's not a vacation. A vacation is laying on the beach all day then going out for dinner, then sleeping in a bed that someone else made for you...
