I don't know how they did this. They tried to buy $300 worth of stuff at Radio Shack a couple of days ago in New York and they tried to sign but the signatures didn't match, so the card was declined...Does that mean they had an actual card to swipe?

Does anyone know how this works?

I've never heard of them actually replicating a card, just Internet orders. Indians are getting smarter.

i think someone stole your number and maybe made a fake card but maybe not. i'm very sorry for your difficulties with this.

Then someone in Tennessee used the number online to buy a Little Rascals video for $1.79. Odd.

I can't believe Radio Shack would actually let someone punch in a card number as opposed to swiping the card.

Supposedly, thieves can even scan your cards remotely now with some kind of scanner, but I don't know it it's true....

This is an ally card so you can use any atm you want willy nilly and not spend any fees...This is the second time I've used a third party atm...never again!

This scam usually involves a second card reader in the ATM that reads and copies the info from your card's magnetic stripe. The info is then transferred to a counterfeit card's blank magnetic stripe, making a fake copy of your card. It must have been made then sold to a third party for the signature not to match- contact your card issuer NOW to inform them what's going on and watch your statement for unauthorized charges.

someone stole my gf's cc number once and ordered vitamins, but had them sent to her address, and then tried to buy a deck for their house. shit was in like 5 different states. good thing the cc company called her. but at first the call from the cc company seemed as fishy, too.

identity theft/cc theft/fraud is scary. feel pretty helpless when it happens to jew.
