Just heard Howard tell Rosie he was INVITED to appear on Conan's final show on NBC. When the "War For Late Night" book came out, the author revealed that NBC was needlessly worried about Howard showing up for the final show because he was never actually invited. Langford mentioned that on the air and Howard claimed he didn't remember whether he was invited or just assumed he had an open invitation to go on the show whenever he wanted. Howard definitely said he was invited, I wonder how many of the other invitations he talks about are fake.

It would have been a great appearance no doubt. We would have forgotten it was Conan's last show as the hardest working pelican talked about himself and his troubles

We'll probably find out later that Howard was never invited to be in the group photo for Paramount he mentioned this week. They released Private Parts through a subsidiary and barely acknowledged being involved with it. There's also the matter of Howard's screener for one of their movies being bootlegged. It's obvious he pretends to be included in things to exaggerate his relevance and importance.

    More Translations from Howchie Speak:

"They invited me, Robin." = "They didn't tell me not to come."
"I have an open invitation to come on, anytime, Robin." = "I forgot that Gary told me they rescinded the invite."
"They asked if they could appear on our show, Robin." = "We begged them to come in; maybe they'll get on the phone when Gary calls."
"<insert Buchwald client name here> is calling in, today, Robin." = "Gary better call and get <insert Buchwald client name here> on the phone."
"Beth and I got together after the divorce." = "Alison had no idea I was cheating on her."

These aren't even seen by Howchie as lies. He always tries to put himself, and by extension, his show, in the best light.

The fact that a Rosie guest segment appears on this date in Howard history is an indictment.

Did team Stern get caught in a lie on Wednesdays WUS?
Is the elephant shit sender still working there?
Doug said he is longer with the company.
Two seconds later Depace comes in and says he is gonna talk to the sender like he still works there?
    Anybody else hear that???

Scott said that he would call the person, so I assumed it was someone who no longer works for the show.

As much as I enjoyed both books by Bill Carter, you're assuming that everything in his accounts are 100% fact checked and true...I wouldn't jump to that conclusion...

Great thought. Since it's all about the Marbles, Howchie is constantly fishing for new sponsors. Kinda like the way politicians are always running for re-election and looking for campaign donations.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Howchie's election campaign contributions? When he refused to submit his tax return info, and was kicked out of the gubernatorial race, did he have to give the money back?!?

The fact that Howard tried to change his story when he heard what was in the book is enough proof for me that he was lying.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, my friend...I don't think it constitutes any kind of "proof" though...
I also don't know if Howard "tried to change his story"...
Although I'm sure he's lied in the past, when you're talking that much, there will be times you get confused as well.
