My original iPad recently took a shit (just outdated and glitchy) so I picked up a "mini 3". I wanted it for a work project that I recently undertook as well. Using an iPad to type documents is a PITA since it is not really what it is made for so I picked up a Zagg keyboard case. It makes the iPad far more useable......basically a 7.9" laptop. The whole packade is reasonably durable, compact, fantastic battery life and gets done what I need reliably. I looked at many other options and this suited my needs best for the money.

Very cool. Did you consider the Lenovo laptop Target has been advertising for around $100?

Is it powerful enough for the 5% gay porno streaming that you do?

Yes. Battery life was a big issue for me. I don't always have access to getting a recharge. Some of the Lenovos had some shit reviews too. dealing with the shit computers the city has is bad enough.

I converted all of my work paperwork to PDF's so I don't have to hand scribble anymore. I even came up with a somewhat easy/fast way to do accident diagrams.

Getting one woulda saved me a few bucks but the few that I could get my hands on to check out had shit reviews and eventhough 11" is compact it is just big enough to be awkward in the police car. I thought I saw that the battery power was rated at abut 8 hrs so I assumed that meant 5 in reality. :c

This is all true. Lenovos are Chinese made and until recently came preloaded with a selling site similar to AliBaba that could be accessed by hackers to spy on you, but for a $100 laptop, what do you want?
