I get in my car at 5:40pm to head home from work and turn on the Stern Channel. I hear Jon Leiberman and soon realize that it must be his joke "Live at 5" segment to fill dead air. At any rate, Jon is interviewing Mitch Albom. Mitch is one of the most well known journalists today. He wrote "Tuesday's with Morrie" and other books that sold close to 40 million copies, works on ESPN, and has been on Oprah's show a number of times.

Here Leiberman, who is on a satire'esque News show, is interviewing him. He is asking Mitch about death, his perspective on mortality, his life, and other actual interesting questions that I haven't heard Mitch asked before. I actually enjoyed the segment and was impressed.

Rewind to 11 hours earlier when I get in my car to head to work in the morning. I turn on the Stern show and the first thing I hear from their vacation layover is a bit they are playing where they give High Pitched Eric some tounge twisters so they can hear his phlemy voice. They follow that up with audio of people on Black Friday shouting Bababooey.

That to me in a nutshell is the Stern Show today.

Loved it a couple of weeks ago when Howard claimed he listens to Lieberman's show, then slipped up and said it's on at 5:00 PM EVERY DAY. He clearly has no idea what's on his channels and doesn't care.

i tuned in at 9am for the west coast feed thinking there might be some interesting discussions about what they did over the holidays or the "knockout game" which O&A have discussed in their own inimitable way.

instead i hear high pitch then to make things even worse howard segues to eric the midget. i know some of you like him but IMO he's ponderous.
howard's heart isn't in it anymore, he's better suited to host a children's show kind of like buffalo bob and howdy doody or wonderama with sonny fox.

Agreed, the HPE stuff wasn't the least bit funny and I've had it with Eric the Midget. Every call is the same - BORING and scripted in advance.

how could anyone think that the P.C. Wiggy & Beth approved ETM segments are funny? If that is what constitutes side splitting funny than I live the life of a mortician.
