Where someone posts longcat several times or the same .gif about 15 times over and over. They don't accomplish anything and kill the thread, which is what the poster intends. Can we have a moratorium on them?

I agree. I hate them. It makes this site suck because you have to scroll 10 times to see the next post. They should not be allowed. I usually will put the person who posts it on ignore so I can read the rest of the thread, but then some jerk quotes the longcat and I have to put them on ignore too. A forum should not be a frustrating place to visit and longcat images should be banned.

I thought Dawg banned them a few months back?

I've had to use Ignore to avoid them, but only on one person so far. (The others aren't as prolific in its use.) If it were my place the second post of a long-anything (most recent was a series of sandwiches) would call for a banning, but of course it's Dawg's place and his decision.

    The longcatters are self-appointed moderators-through-vandalism.

Yeah, it's been a LOT better, but I did see a long sandwich yesterday or today. I assume that might be what triggered the OP....

Never mind, I just ran across some different ones too. Usual culprits I guess. I normally stay out of the Bar.

If you're using Chrome or Firefox, install a plug-in called adblock. It works like a charm for me. Whenever I come across images I can't stand, I right-click on it and add it to the adblock filter. In an instant, every occurrence of the image disappears. The posters who posted it look as though they posted an empty reply. It also helps when people have avatars you're bothered by.

Yeah, but one or two of the more aggressive people started varying all kinds of crap images, and it got tiring. Thus the desperate measure of the Ignore feature.
