unfortunately i've shot a lot of birds in my life.

    i regret that.

i stopped when i was in my teens.

i should let them pick me clean when i die but i'm not that good of a person.

when i was up in the mountains, i was standing still digging the sounds of the woods, and i had a hummingbird buzz by. it turned around, came up just a few inches from my eyes and hovered there. it was there for 2 mins or so. i didn't move.

    hummingbirds rule

When I was a kid, I shot all kinds of birds all the time with my pellet gun. I got to feeling guilty at some point and all but quit. Goddamn I'd love some fried quail again, though....

ditto. birds were simply targets. i didn't think about their deaths.

my mum got me into shooting trap when i was 12 or so and that led to dove hunting. i did that for a few seasons because that's what the folks i hung with did.

now the only thing i'll shoot at walks upright and looks human.

Meh, I'll shoot snakes (Water Moccasins & Copperheads) or something I'm gonna eat....or something that's gonna eat me...and hawgs...We have a bad problem with them overpopulating around here.

oh i have no problem shooting vermin that come close to me. i used to hike a lot and carried snake shot rounds in my .38.

i watch those hog hunting shows. those things are evil and need to be hunted down. they probably taste good too.
