whats the deal w/ the opening awareness of an internet sphere called 'mesh net' or 'deep net' ...
its nothing new. its just the media is beginning to notice the deep because of Snowden's exposure of the NSA and other fun govt activities. If you want to read about the real deep & meshnets, google Hyperboria
have or do you use the deep net for any particular reason or have you simply browsed? i see the possibilities of its use for security benefits (as it is non regulated, etc.) and a forum for illicit activities too, so i can see how it can draw curious people to browse around .. some to use such services.
i'm a geek. i use it because its interesting. I don't have the need for the kind of security it offers, but i do support peoples' rights to privacy and self-government so I kind of support things like the EFF, encryption, and undernets. I tend towards being a hardware geek so i like making nodes on unusual devices. I've setup a raspberry pi node already (but its really slow. max is 2mb); next week i'm going to build out on an ARM platform so i can play with development underneath.
i also do these things because its kind of fun to make strange cpus appear on the local networks.
Apple sucks! PCs rule!
The benefits of the 'deep web' or 'dark web' are obvious.
Much easier to get Molly by mail from a rated source, than some scumbag down in Ocean Beach.
i don't compute your message
geeks do these things because they are interesting and cool, rather than because they want to do illegal things. most of us don't understand what makes something "clandestine", but in high school and college being into these things got us laid which was really always the goal.
