Chris Copeland is shown during his days playing for the New York Knicks.
A former member of the New York Knicks now playing for the Indiana Pacers was stabbed in the abdomen — and his wife slashed — during an argument at 1 OAK club in Chelsea early Thursday, cop sources said.

Chris Copeland’s attacker was arrested, and two other men, both of whom play for the Atlanta Hawks, were also booked for trying to prevent police from setting up a crime scene, the sources said.

A second woman was also stabbed amid the fracas, which happened shortly before 4 a.m., as the popular club on West 17th St. was preparing to close. An argument erupted as Copeland, the other victims and the suspect were leaving, the sources said.

The man who was arrested, Shezoy Bleary, 22, pulled out a knife and stabbed Copeland, 31, and slashed 28-year-old Katrine Saltara, described as Copeland’s wife, in the arm and leg, the sources said.

The second woman, 53, was slashed in the abdomen.

Pero Antic, of the Atlanta Hawks, was also arrested.
Copeland was in New York because the Pacers are playing the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. He and the other victims were rushed to Bellevue Hospital and were in stable condition, the sources said.

When police arrived at the scene, they busted Bleary and recovered a knife, sources said. Charges against him were pending.

The two members of Hawks who were arrested, Thabo Sefolosha, 30, and Pero Antic, 32, refused to move when police tried to set up a crime scene, the sources said. They were charged with obstructing governmental administration.

Copeland, a 6-foot-8 forward from Orange, N.J., played 56 games with the Knicks during 2012-2013 season, his rookie year.

Thabo Sefolosha, also a player on the Atlanta Hawks, was arrested along with Antic for allegedly blocking police as they tried to set up a crime scene.
In July 2013 the restricted free agent signed a two-year $6.1 million contract with the Pacers.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are in town to play the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.

Sefolosha and Antic had been in the city no more than a few hours before the incident, as they spent Tuesday night in Atlanta, scoring a combined 32 points to help the Hawks beat the Phoenix Suns.

What clubs are these people going to where violence is a constant issue? Good god and they always want to blame whitey/the cops until in the 99999/100000 where they assault each other within their own community and they are screaming for 911.

    More NBA Chicanery

A Phoenix police report offers new information about why two Phoenix Suns players are suspects in a January assault.
Eric Hood, according to the report, sent “inappropriate” text messages to Markieff and Marcus Morris’ mother. Those texts dissolved a years-long friendship between Hood and the Morris brothers, who are twins. Hood told police that he mentored the twins when they were youth players in Philadelphia.
Hood spotted the Morris brothers at a youth basketball game at a gym near 15th Avenue and Colter on an evening in late January, he told police. That was the first time in several years that the victim and suspects had seen each other, Hood said in the report.
After the game, several people outside the gym beat Hood, leaving him with abrasions and a broken nose, the report said.
Hood identified the Morris brothers as part of the group who attacked him. The twins told police that they were not involved in any attack against Hood.
The Suns have previously declined to comment on the situation. An email to a team spokesperson Tuesday night was not returned.
Phoenix police, in their report, recommended charges of aggravated assault for the Morris twins.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has not charged the twins; the case is currently under review, a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said.

Seems that there might be a bit more to this story. The article called this triple stabbing a "fracas" [def: a noisy disturbance or quarrel]. Must be a tough club. If a triple stabbing is a fracas, I wonder what level must arise before it's considered "mayhem"?

This story just needs an aspiring rapper and it can come full circle and be a black thing that we don't get cuz of culture.
I picture Al Sharpton outside the club today telling all the white press to move on there is nothing to see here.
