    Cop once hailed as a hero now accused of tickling a dead man’s toes

    A Bakersfield, Calif., police officer has been placed on administrative leave after he was accused of playfully manipulating the body of a man who had been fatally shot by another officer.

    Bakersfield Police Department Senior Officer Aaron Stringer allegedly told a police trainee that he “loves playing with dead bodies” after he said “tickle tickle” while touching the feet of Ramiro James Villegas, according to the Bakersfield Californian.

    Stringer, 35, also pulled on the corpse’s toes and tried to turn his head and open his jaw, the newspaper reported. Citing statements in police reports, the Californian reported that Stringer made rigor mortis jokes while touching the corpse.
