I keep seeing these shows listed about Tiny Homes. What is up with these things? I'll admit some look pretty awesome, just totally impractical.

Does anyone here live in a tiny home or maybe a mobile home?

I just bought my first house a year ago. It is small, 1300 Sq ft. I can't imagine living in a house that is 250 Sq ft.

I could understand why a tiny house may be a good idea but all I ever see are ones built on trailers. Fuck that.....I want a foundation at least but a small basement would be better.

My 1st house was a 1080 sq. ft. bu bungalo. I wouldn't wanna go much smaller. Maybe 800.

They say you pay almost no taxes if it's built on a trailer vs on the ground.

Fine. I'd rather pay the taxes though.

    Ridiculous.
That'd be real fun until someone takes the first stinky shit in the bathroom. No escaping that.

I could kind of understand it if you were single, but I'm suspicious of the wife, kid(s), and dog shit HGTV throws out there. Let's see how all these families are holding up after 3 or 4 years. I think some of the houses have to be on trailers do to local laws. Could also see these as a guest house on a decent sized property.

The only one I saw that I could understand are those Granny Pods. They seem like they serve a purpose for those who don't want to go the Nursing Home route.

To Howard, any home less than 12,000 square feet is a tiny home.

Aren't these tiny houses about the size of New York apartments?

The obama economy in high gear. Why live in a 2000 square foot house when you can instead live in a 300 sq foot "house" that has less amenities than a basic camper.
