I've seen the older stuff that was brought up years ago but some of this stuff is from more recent expeditions. So if you haven't seen them....enjoy.;)

I find it morbidly creepy when they show people clothes especially when some of them, like shoes n such, were probably being worn by dead people. Things like toilets and money are another matter. It's like digging up a grave and taking the corpses clothes off.

I'm surprised that the "name" necklace has been around that long. I thought it was more of a 70's-80's trend. Cool thread!

    This.
What gets me is that when Robert Ballard and his team found the ship, they resisted the urge to bring anything up saying something to the effect that this is and should always be treated as a gravesite. Then several French expeditions picked the site over like it was a free yard sale.

I was able to actually touch the large hull piece they brought up. We did some work at the museum of science and industry when the exhibit was here. It was just lying around in the back. People had been sitting on it while eating lunches and there were even fast food wrappers lying around.

I have a bunch have of pics somewhere.

It's pretty creepy how many of the were found. Not in suitcases, but lying in pairs in the debris field. The leather repels bacteria and microorganisms while the body itself was eaten and absorbed by various means. What's left is the shoes as if the person last wearing them on the ocean floor simply vanished.
