If you're still on 7, 8, or 8.1, now is the time to get your free update to 10.

Click the little windows icon in the bottom right to get started.

There's no reason to stay stuck in the past. 10 is better in every way to its predecessors. Safer, faster, and more feature-rich. It's a free update to the latest version, and it guarantees you security and feature updates for many years to come. It's silly to not take advantage of this offer.

If you want to get it tomorrow, it'll cost you 129 bucks.

Is 10 the one that works like cell phone gui?
I hate the version I'm using now. It's lowered my productivity.

    Not in every way.

    I don't like forced updates.

They tricked me into upgrading to it a few months back.
I'm getting used to it now and it's not too bad.
    I liked 7 though.

    No, that was 8.

10 fixed everything that people disliked about 8.

You'll be very happy with 10 if you don't like the one you're currently using.

Yeah because it's a good idea to not install security patches.

Forced security patches are a good thing. 99% of people who disable them don't know what the hell they're doing.

ive seen several 10 machines come thru here with suddenly no tpad, no wifi, no audio. You have to go to the website and get the updated driver; there will usually be one for that day. If you can manage to figure out how to find the driver and get the driver carried over from a working pc then youre good.

If win 10 is so fucking smart.. and so heavy on updates. Why cant it update its drivers?

and these are OEM win 10 machines that can in fact run nothing but 10. Not upgrades. There are plenty of upgrades with hardware issues too, many of which arent even supported for 10 officially by the hardware mfr but MS goes and installs the damn thing anyway. Why wouldnt it just say, this pc isnt supported, go buy a new one?

    Crazy.

I upgraded my desktop from 7 to 10 a month back. It's alright. The interface is very bland in comparison to 7, and some of the advanced functions have been moved around, but once you find them you're good to go.

I'm going to leave my tablet/laptop with windows 8.1.

10 does everything 8.1 does and is even faster, especially on high end systems.

Yeah. I know a couple of other people who had it happen around the same time they got me.
I was really pissed right after they did it.
Seems like a pretty shady move on Microsoft's part.

I know what I'm doing. I like to have the option of picking and choosing what updates and when to install them manually.

    Don't be a wise ass.

I can't believe they still tie your registration to a specific piece of hardware. They should allow you to use it on at least 2 computers (most people I know have at least 2).

God - Microsoft and Windows sucks balls.

Even worse is that when you "hide" that update, it will still pop up occasionally and you have to hide it AGAIN. I think I hide it maybe 3-4 times.
