He was Base Ball Player.
Didn't he Play Herman Munster?
Pete Rose is Managing ....he was a Base Ball Player two.
Cancer is a bitch.
Gwynn, who underwent multiple surgeries during his playing career to remove growths from his mouth, was diagnosed with cancer of a salivary gland in 2011. He chalked it up to his heavy dipping tobacco habit—it was rare to see Gwynn without a full cheek.
Gwynn was always a beast... not power, but could hit anything and barely struck out I believe. Great player.
That guy was skinny as hell when he played the Tigers in the '84 world series. He sure became a big ole fatso in a hurry.
Are we sure it wasn't a mouthful of pizza?

Tony Gwynn gets contract extension
Steroids will do that to you.
I wondered that too, but wasn't he a slap hitter?
Gwynn was a good dude. I used to live in the same area as him and would see him in the supermarket, restaurants etc. He was always cool to the kids and others that wanted an autograph, never pulled any Stern, I'm better than you, bullshit.
They must get contract advice from Sirius.
A lot ballplayers still dipping.
Expect a new wave of rotted jaw PSA's
Matt Harvey is a dipper.
TV director always seemed to catch him in the act....guys in the booth never said anything.
He stayed with the same team his entire career as well. I still don't get how a guy goes from speedy outfielder (once had 56 steals in a season) to knock-kneed fatty during a playing career. He had a nice, long career. Too bad his life after his playing days was cut so short. 54 is pretty damn young.
He loved hamburgers, he also admitted to using amphetamines in his early career that keeps, you skinny.
to be fair so does aging and a change in your metabolism
he was not a steriod user
he was a great hitter
his kid plays for a team right?
RIP TOny Gwynn
Cancer, 54yrs old. Dude put the bat on the ball better than anyone in the 80's and 90's. Too young.
