    Episode Guide
    No stream available yet.

Jeremy Clarkson and James May encounter artillery shells, corsets and classic hot hatchbacks as they take a nostalgic look at one of the world’s most interesting and varied companies – Peugeot.

Meanwhile, Richard Hammond is at the test track to compare the crisp precision engineering of the new Porsche Cayman GTS with the thunderous all-American muscle of the latest Chevrolet Corvette.

Also in this show, James tests the sensational 950-horsepower LaFerrari hypercar hybrid on glorious Italian roads, and singer Olly Murs is the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car.

    Some say…
“Some say that his favourite flower is the potato, and that even though he’s seen Fifty Shades of Grey he still thinks BDSM is a driving school. All we know is he’s called the Stig!”

One of the best episodes I've seen in a long time. The Corvette was surprisingly good, the Ferrari was amazing, and the piece on Peugeot and its drivers was brutal and relentless. It's been a while since I laughed so hard at a television program.

I enjoyed watching the Corvette Stingray run a lap equal to a $450k Porsche Carrera GT. Imagine what the Z06 will do to their tests. My bet is they wait a year or two to bring that one on to give their beloved euros a chance to catch up.

That Peugeot segment was entertaining. They were brutal toward that company. My favorite is still the time they drove from Florida to Louisiana in the wake of hurricane Katrina. They captured the American south brilliantly.

They've been pretty honest in their reviews in their own way. Even Jeremy admitted that the Corvette was great, and he doesn't like American cars in general. I don't think they have an agenda in that regard. They make fun of Germans all the time, but also admit they make awesome cars.

And yeah, that road trip episode was fantastic. All their adventure episodes have been great. Consistently interesting and funny, and unmatched cinematography. There isn't a show on TV that is this well-produced. Nothing even close.

This week's Ferrari segment was a work of art.

The funny thing is British cars are turds. They're cool enough but poorly engineered. I remember them testing a CTS-V on the USA version and it blew away some pricy competition just like the Corvette did. I'd like to see the UK version put the CTS-V up against similarly priced sedans. It too will blow the doors off similarly priced euros and put up numbers closer to their top offerings. I generally agree that American cars simply aren't drivers cars, so I understand the criticism. But the American companies have always been able to make an exotic killer for a fraction of the price of the exotic.

British cars have a bad rap, and rightly so. They have made many horribly unreliable cars through the years. But I'd say the current line-up of Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin is pretty damn solid. Time will tell, but they've gotten better over the years. Bentley and Mini are built by Germans now, so those aren't technically British anymore. I'd argue there aren't many bad cars made in the western world anymore, save for the French.

American cars have gotten a lot better over the years, especially in terms of handling. They've always offered great value for money, as you get a lot of power, more than from the European cars. The CTS-V would offer superior performance to a similarly priced Mercedes or Audi no doubt, but it simply can't touch the refinement that the Europeans (especially the Germans) have, especially in terms of interior. I've driven many cars, including a recent Cadillac CTS, Ford Mustang and Corvette, and I've seen and felt this first-hand. That, and although this is personal, I find the looks of Cadillac crass and vulgar compared to European luxury vehicles.

Don't get me wrong, this is nice.

But it's not nearly as nice as this.

Hammond made a good analogy between the Porsche and the Corvette. The Corvette is the sledgehammer, and the Porsche is the surgical precision-knife. Both are great in their own specific way.

And don't get me wrong, I love American cars. I've had a lot of fun in them. Their crassness makes them unique, unapologetic and cool. They have a "fuck you" factor them that you simply can't find in any European car.

I owned a Land Rover for 18 months. It spent 16 of those months in the shop.

Some of the guests they have are interesting, but yeah, I do agree that it's not always the best part of the show.
