"I was talking with another Stern fan tonight and she seems to think Howard will go to Netflix. And then another friend of mine believes that as well and that his Birthday Bash will be the big start of Howard on Netflix.

Before this I really wasn't sure if he was going to have a TV Element or not. But if Howard does TV again what do you think the delivery method will be? "

Hmmmm what do you guys think

I think his brain may have been fried with all those satellite receivers.

"With the purchase of series, we look at what it does well on piracy sites," said Kelly Merryman, Netflix's vice president of content acquisition.

No deal for Howard. No one bothers to get his stuff for free.

    Three problems with Taylor's thoughts:

They came from another fan not an insider so it's based simply on supposition not fact. I could say that it will appear on sim cards that will be embedded in your skin and will provide direct video to your brain's visual centers and it would be just as valid.

There would be no reason to fire the staff if that was true since they would still be responsible for providing the content to Netflix

If there was any sort of deal in place Howard would be promoting it nonstop

Even if Howard was still popular, doesn't seem to fit Netflix's current strategy. Netflix seems to want series to be released all at once for binge viewing. I don't see them getting into ongoing series.

Also, Netflix also likes to announce series way in advance to generate a buzz. I don't think they would sit on this news.

Howard is living in 1990, He thinks his fans are hard up for sophomoric nudity . On the radio. when we can all dial up porn everywhere. He's not doing anything in the studio that warrants video. He's wasting his time and money. I won't even download his shit for free. what makes him think anyone cares ?

If there were an upcoming announce on HTV on his b-day, why did he lay off ALL the HTV staff, telling them it was not a temp thing?

Makes no sense. Unless some other company is going to bring in their own guys which would be strange.

Thread title is misleading. What if I say I believe he is gonna be moving HTV to sim cards? Means nothing, just like what Taylor's "friends" happen to think.

...why would Netflix want to pay for howard and what kind of content would he produce. I cant see it he would be a pain in the company's ass. maybe he thinks he can re work that lawsuit based on subscribers deal.

I find it kind of interesting only because Netflix's streaming of movies (and now some original programs) is a one-price-for-everything service. Even those who still choose the DVD/ mailing envelope service don't pay a premium for any specific discs. So if this is true, at least Stern fans (yes, there are some left) who subscribe to Netflix will finally be able to watch his show without paying an additional fee. I don't see Netflix changing their business model to any type of pay-per-view or charging an extra fee for one show; after all, the "one price" per service rather than per show or movie is how they helped put Blockbuster (who jumped on the bandwagon way too late) out of business.

But anyway HorseVsPelican (love that name by the way) is saying that TSS Taylor was only talking with a Stern fan and another friend of his, so at this point it's all speculative.

I can see Netflix paying big for his entire archive, but not this rotating episode nonsense. Now, how do I capture a Netflix stream again?

Robin, Netflix is the most amazing thing ever- have you heard about it?

I know- I was just gonna say that- they are so amaaaazing.....

They have original content. And that's what I'm all about- that's what I've been telling the brass here at Sirius- or XM or whatever it's called- it's all about creating fresh CON-tent, Robin.
