Even those who agree with that proposition "individual rights must take a back seat to the collective" are mistaken in supporting agenda 21 because it calls for shared sacrifice based on mutually-reinforcing false premises of overpopulation, anthropogenic global warming and Malthusian resource depletion. Across the developed world the fertility rate is below the replacement level of 2 children per family so it follows that the world is not overpopulated but rather it's underdeveloped. AGW is an obvious scam, climate is always changing irrespective of human activity i.e. the Medieval Warm Period. And we haven't even begun to tap the resources at our disposal, for example thorium-based nuclear power.

Good post Vashier. You can clearly see beyond the phoney political division. Republicans, Democrats, Communist, Socialists...etc ALL OF THEM don't give a shit about the people.

I think that's part of why I respected Art so much over the years, he never made the show about his own politics and just wanted to get to the truth of the issue at hand. The fact is that both parties are just slaves to corporate interests at this point, we're just voting for opposing sides of the same coporotocracy.

Let's not forget the Monarchists who have been major supporters of these supposed environmental/humanitarian causes, specifically the Anglo-Dutch royals; Queen Beatrix, Prince Phillip and Prince Bernhard (former Nazi SS). Can you believe Prince Phillip was quoted as saying "In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation"? http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2009/jun/21/quotes-by-prince-philip And get this, according to Wikipedia there are now 141 "sustainability organizations" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Sustainability_organisations

Agreed. You could house the entire population of the planet inside Texas. And so many societies are barely at the 2.1 threshold for survivability that you really wonder what's next.

I went to a land use conference that expressed concern about some of these principals so this is not tin foil hat type of stuff. There was much discussion about regionalism and regional planning instead of local/municipal planning and how it was being encouraged by the federal government by means of federal funds. Ultimate private real property rights have effectively been eliminated by the supreme court. In eminent domain situations the question of can the government take has been eliminated with the only question being just compensation for the taking.

We had the strangest eminent domain case in Beverly Hills this year. There is a median stretch in the middle of the road by Wilshire and Santa Monica/Doheny. It was supposed to be a transportation zoned corridor for trains to go through, but, no trains.

So the City decides they want it, and take it via eminent domain. The landowner gets his appraiser, and values the Beverly Hills land at $450 a foot, pretty good, he's looking to get $5.6Million for this undeveloped property.

The City's appraiser came in at $111,000. For the entire lot. :wtf:

Well, this pisses off the landowner something fierce, and the lawsuit was enjoined. In the end, the jury awarded $3.4Million to the landowner.

A month later, the City gave the land back to him, and did not pay the jury verdict.

    What. The. Fuck.

Best the landowner can do is charge "rent" for the 2 years the City grabbed his land pending valuation, and recoup costs and attorney fees.
