"The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Securities and Exchange Commission are investigating possible insider trading involving billionaire investor Carl Icahn, golfer Phil Mickelson and Las Vegas gambler William Walters, a source familiar with the matter said."

"Federal investigators are looking into whether Mickelson and Walters may have traded illegally on private information provided by Icahn about his investments in public corporations, the source told Reuters, confirming a report by the Wall Street Journal on Friday."

Why would a billionaire and a millionaire many times over be this stupid and greedy?

Fine, but how about we go after some of the non-celebrity financial crooks too? (Wiggy related because his wife is a non-celebrity.)

Mickelson had the balls to bitch and moan about the tax hike in
The new tax would have cost him 1.8 MILLION ON TOP OF THE 8 MILLION THAT HE ALREADY PAYS .
Too bad he pussed out and apologized i under a week

If Phil Mickelson is getting (and profiting from) stock tips from the most successful sports gambler in Las Vegas, how is Phil Mickelson re-paying the most successful sports gambler in Las Vegas? The conspiracy theorist in me recalls Phil losing the US Open in 2006 by one stroke when he defied all common sense (according to golf announcers, pundits and fellow players) and pulled his driver on 18 at Winged Foot. The ball ended up bouncing off the roof of a hospitality tent. He double bogeyed the hole, and apologized afterwards for being an "idiot." Didn't smell right to me then, REALLY doesn't smell right to me now.

But aside from my kooky conspiracy, more is coming out of this, I'm guessing. They Feds usually leak these stories for a longer purpose. This will be interesting.
