    Hello everyone,

I'm flying solo the beginning of this evening so I didn't try to make too much of a fuss for dinner. You may have never had this stuff, but its pretty popular in the region.

    On Tonight's Menu:

Pimento Cheese Sandwich & Fries - Homemade Pimento Cheese Spread, Lettuce, & Tomato on grilled Country Bread with Store-Bought Seasoned Fries...

...and tonight's selection (the second to last) for my Pre-War Blues Week comes from 1923. I chose it because it highlights how the Blues bridged the gap between Ragtime and Jazz. It also showcases the dark themes were in the Blues before those types of themes made a revival in the mainstream in the Psychedelic Era. Lastly I wanted to show that early Blues wasn't all guitar based and that piano is featured as well. Tonight's track is by Bessie Smith and its called "Cemetery Blues":

Feel free to talk about your food and music.

I hope everyone is happy and safe. I'll stick around for a while and I'll probably have a beer in half an hour or so. Take care, Saloon! [IMG]

Pre World War II is what they count as Pre-War Blues. I explained that the first day of my theme week.

I would like to do a Ragtime Week, some of that stuff is Pre WWI.

    Thank you, sir! [IMG]

I love those. I prefer brushing them with a bit of oil and baking them or just frying them.

Not much jon, I wish I had something interesting to talk about, but I guess boring is better than bad, right? :)

    Heyo!

Just finished a strawberry and grilled Chicken salad, and am heading out for some drinks at a place known for tapas, so I will probably grab some of that too. Free Jazz there too, so Im stoked. Taking it a little easy tonight, as I am doing a 7mile snowshoe hike tomorrow....apparently it is pretty intense.

    Day full of music

    The aforementioned

Punch Brothers: Who looks young now. Interesting "prog-grass" sound. Really turns bluegrass upside down. Neat

    That sounds divine! :uwub:

    Hiyo!!!!!!!!

I've never been on a snowshoe hike, we don't get that much snow here in the winter, but a 7 mile hike in the summer is fun, but it kicks my ass. I can't imagine doing it in snowshoes.

Good luck and be safe, sir! [IMG]
