Hello everyone, I'm flying solo the beginning of this evening so I didn't try to make too much of a fuss for dinner. You may have never had this stuff, but its pretty popular in the region. On Tonight's Menu: Pimento Cheese Sandwich & Fries - Homemade Pimento Cheese Spread, Lettuce, & Tomato on grilled Country Bread with Store-Bought Seasoned Fries... ...and tonight's selection (the second to last) for my Pre-War Blues Week comes from 1923. I chose it because it highlights how the Blues bridged the gap between Ragtime and Jazz. It also showcases the dark themes were in the Blues before those types of themes made a revival in the mainstream in the Psychedelic Era. Lastly I wanted to show that early Blues wasn't all guitar based and that piano is featured as well. Tonight's track is by Bessie Smith and its called "Cemetery Blues": Feel free to talk about your food and music. I hope everyone is happy and safe. I'll stick around for a while and I'll probably have a beer in half an hour or so. Take care, Saloon!
