    I think not! :grad:

    Some personal notes:

I lived next to the park mentioned (Untermyer) for a few years... And I smoked a ton of weed in the ruins shown at the 6 minute mark of the second video.

    :bong:

When this originally aired, all of Robert Stack's vignettes were filmed on the Aqueduct, right across from my apartment. Which I always thought was pretty cool. They're dust in the wind now, though. :nocheer:

The Satan worshippers & ritualistic animal killings are no myth. Both are well known facts to anyone who lived in Yonkers, in that era. A week didn't pass w/o some kind of carcass being found. Usually German shepherds...

Anyway, the above has the very basic info. The Carr's were definitely involved. Berkowitz didn't act alone. IMHO.

    Enjoy.

I'll add more to this when I have some time. There's some juicy meat on these bones.

There was an thing on the History Channel a few years ago that went into this in detail. Weren't the Carr's police? Also, One of those killing was really hard to pull off because all of the police were out in the are and he killed outside of that area.

I didn't see the history channel piece. From what I recall, the Carr sister was a dispatcher for the Yonkers Police Department. That was the only connection that I'm aware of. I'm not sure how much that could've benefitted them.

"Sam" btw was definitely Sam Carr. The father.

Sam Carr?!? I imagine he's long dead.

I'm not sure how deep his involvement went. Besides being an abusive & sadistic animal- who created two monsters, and inspired their savagery... I heard a few different stories growing up though, so who knows. :dontknow:

I have off tomorrow. I'll dive into this more thoroughly then. But please, feel free to add whatever you want. :thumbup2:

Has he ever said there was more than one person involved? Did he actually commit any of the murders or was he just a nutjob?

This isn't unsolved. The NYPD knows it was a cult, berkowitz was the fall guy.

Well yeah, that's the point of the thread :p :jj:

To the NYPD though, the case is closed. And Berkowitz was the lone assailant. There was a prosecutor who tried to get it re-opened in the 90's, but he was shut down.

It's still an open case in Yonkers though. :cheer:

Yes, yes, and no. Although he's definitely nuts. :jj:

Not only did he implicate others, after dropping the demonic wrap he named names. The Carr's. He later recanted that though.

Based on the eyewitness accounts; he committed some of the murders. The rest were done by John Carr. And possibly a third man. The sketches are pretty blatant.

He was part of an offshoot of the Process Church of the Final Judgment. Freaky 60's cult that spawned serial killers wherever they went. Bad times.
