[h=2]A May 7th solicitation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks "the commercial acquisition of submachine guns [in] .40 Cal. S&W."[/h]According to the solicitation, the Dept. of Agriculture wants the guns to have an "ambidextrous safety, semiautomatic or 2 round [bursts] trigger group, Tritium night sights front and rear, rails for attachment of flashlight (front under fore group) and scope (top rear), stock collapsible or folding," and a "30 rd. capacity" magazine.
They also want the submachine guns to have a "sling," be "lightweight," and have an "oversized trigger guard for gloved operation."
The solicitation directs "all responsible and/or interested sources...[to] submit their company name, point of contact, and telephone." Companies that submit information in a "timely" fashion "shall be considered by the agency for contact to determine weapon suitability."

    Nope, no police state here.

Can't blame them! Never know when the cows and pigs are going to rise up and try to take over and get revenge, not to mention the wheat and corn.

These are the people that inspect food production plants of all kinds, really, why do they need these? To protect themselves, or to force Americans at gun point to do their job and shut up! End times allright.

Buy a rifle for each family member and a thousand rounds of ammunition for each rifle. PRACTICE so that you can hit your target. This is not a joke.

Totally reasonable for the USDA to own weapons that the Dem leadership says no one needs to own.

But, really, just focus on the very, very important issue of who can marry who.

I saw a USDA sticker on the gas pumps yesterday. They have their nose in that, too.

Doesn't the USDA also inspect farm operations too? Some of those guys can get a bit testy so they'll probably cite that as justification for this bullshit.

And I thought Cows With Guns was just a goofy song. Could actually be prophetic.

I was reading the executive order Obama signed allowing the government to basically do anything in the event of a crisis. One of the things it involved was seizing farms and taking all means of food production under government control. I hope these two issues aren't related but, considering the government has also been stockpiling ammunition, none of it sounds good. I really wish I had my own island somewhere with some good surf, and I'd just set sail with my two cats. All saloon/shed members would be invited.

More hysteria from the govt. haters...

    Submachine guns?

That spec sounds like an ar-15..... The same gun in pretty much every police car in suburban America.

The forestry service comes under the USDA . They have a law enforcement division that protects national forests and conducts criminal investigations . They sometimes arrest arsonist, guys with meth labs etc....

You can argue that maybe they could just disband and let the FBI or local police handle it....but this isn't exactly black helicopters rounding you up to the camps type of news.

Yeah, it's just hysteria, until you see the targets they are practicing on.

Sigh.... these targets are used in "shoot - Don't shoot" training scenarios. :secret:
