In a new video shared on Facebook, a feminist activist has taken aim at her Lyft driver for a hula doll on his dashboard. The complaining party, Annaliese Nielsen, is the founder of “Girls Night In,” an online community of women. The attack begins with Nielsen asking the driver why he didn’t “think about the pillaging of the continent of Hawaii.” Hawaii is a small archipelago and not a continent. Nielsen then slams the driver, as a “white male,” who didn’t have the right to display the doll as he is “the person who is least hurt in the situation.” The woman filmed the video with the intention of causing an online dogpile on the driver, but instead it has back fired. She had to delete her Twitter account which has now been taken over by a troll. She responded to the events on Facebook, claiming she has received a barrage of harassment since the publishing of the video.
