Oh fuck! Seems to be happening a lot lately! What an asshole......
I always slow down and look even if the alarm isn't going off. I don't trust those signals.
Oh and that person sucks for dropping the camera at the exact moment that mattered.
Check out the other angle, he didnt drop the camera.
Wow talk about bad timing. Looks like car tryed to beat train. Its been a good year for the trains. Trains 14 Cars 0
The second angle is insane. The amount of time that train took to stop was mind boggling. With the momentum of that train, I'm flabbergasted that the car wasn't vaporized on the spot.
At least the dead people didn't know what the fuck hit them (which was a freight train carrying the contents of about 500 wal marts)
The train signals on the right side of the video seem to be not working. They are not flashing back and forth at all. Maybe the car had the music on and had no idea?
There's no way he didn't see that train right there.
Dwight Mitchell with the Louisville Metro Police said the intersection’s flashing lights and sounds were activated to alert drivers of the approaching train. There is no gate at the intersection.
Four people were in the white Toyota Camry at the time of the crash. Two of the people inside the car were killed, while two others were taken to University Hospital in Louisville, Mitchell said. No one on the train was injured.
The freight train did not derail, but it was unable to slow down and pushed the car about a half mile down the tracks, Mitchell said.
Horns blasting, giant yellow freight train, no way he didn't see it no way, he was trying to show off and beat it looks like to me.
I wish there was a better angle. Can't see further right if there was some kind of obstruction or if gates were down, etc. Just surprised the lights were not flashing. Crazy stuff though.
If he did, then sadly he got what he deserved. Idiotic move. Crazy.
Did you see both angles?
That was compelling footage!
This sort of happened to my little sister. She was so drunk that she drove into the train and is now a paraplegic. Thankfully she was the only occupant in the car. Dumb ass.
how is that possible?
aftermath interview with the guys with cameras.
People are too damn impatient nowadays.
Got a buddy who who loves along the main north/south lines headed out of C-bus, about a quarter mile down from a crossing. Earlier this year, he woke up to the cops picking up body parts from a woman who had committed suicide the night before by stepping in front of a train. Parts were scattered over a half mile from the impact site, and the cops had to borrow a box of trash bags because they ran out of evidence bags for the body parts. It's the third time since he's lived there someone offed themselves on the tracks, it's really gotta suck for the engineers
Yeah I'm a dope haha. Just saw 2nd one at the bottom. Just surprised there are no gates and the warning train lights were not on.
