Good read here
I wonder if @Mlaw did blow with Gary McLain
I don't have time to read it. Who won?
Yeah you're a busy guy
God Ed Pinckney was such a stiff in Boston.
How many guys on that team saw you naked?
So much cocaine that night according to my uncle. I wish I was older.
I have the SI magazine with the Gary McClain cover story. I was also at the final---fucking best time of my life
we have the same birthday
coke was like weed back then. No one really knew how fucked up you could get from it. Len Bias changed all that
Coke was still pretty prevalent when I was there 1999-2003. You put a bunch of spoiled rich kids from NY, NJ and Philly together and its pretty much guaranteed to snow. It was the drug everyone did, but no one talked about.
I will honestly say, the guys on that team were generally really good guys, they were complete ego driven assholes. They were superstars on campus, --remember we had no football program from 81-85, so they were the BMOC.
You probably rebound and shoot better.
I would do those 4 years over and over again for the rest of my life if I could.
What bars were there then?
Near campus was Kelly's--we used to go to Smokin Joes, downtown ---We didn't do bars as much, because when I was there we could have parties with kegs and grain alcohol punch on campus every weekend
Heh... never drink the punch
We also used to go to AC, because the drinking age was still 18 in Jersey at the time and for 20 bucks we got on casino buses and could drink for free and get $40 in chips
I had a New York State driver's license for a fake ID--back then NY didn't have photos on their licences --I was Debra Nichols or something like that
Kelly's closed the year before I got there and reopened the year after I left.
Definitely wasn't a dry campus. They rolled Budweiser trucks right onto "Sheehan Beach" for homecoming and NovaFest every year.
