Within12 years there will be a large enough computer to hold your brains consciousness, memories, feelings, emotions...everything about you....every night before bed time you will upload it to the cloud
It will take four years to clone your new 20 year old body from your DNA..

So you get hit by a car and die, you download your brain into the new body...presto...ever lasting life

    Science or science fiction?

12yrs is a little too far off even from what I heard. According to the things I've heard&read we already have the ability to do this(have for many years) and it could be made public within 5yrs. This all ties into the fact that we are already traveling the stars and that this is a main component in time travel/teleportation. The next decade is gonna be very very interesting if Obama doesnt get us all killed with his delusional ISIS War.

In the 50s we were gonna have flying cars and automated kitchens. You remember all the stuff on the Jetsons?

Every advance is supposedly 50 years old. New stuff now was actually invented 50 years ago.

No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300. Heck, I just read in the newspaper that they put a pig heart in some guy from Russia. Do you know what that means?

I'm down for this. I like the idea of dumping my thoughts into a new body.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a pig valve in his heart. Genetically pigs are closer to people than any other animal.

This will never happen. The planet can't even sustain the number of people currently on it. Now imagine essentially "stopping death".

It's like plugging the drain. Eventually the bathtub is gonna overflow.

I actually believe that's why many major diseases haven't been "cured" yet. It's a culling of the herd the government knows is required to sustain the others. Not to mention the healthcare industry dollars treatment generates.

I could see how the technology could be there... I just don't believe they'll ever make it legal. MAYBE in cases of terminal illness under a specific age, or in cases of sudden unexpected death under a specific age? Maybe? But even then you're in such an ethical argument between extreme polar opposite views, I don't believe it would ever move far enough in one direction to create law.

Fuck... We can't even get everyone to agree on abortion or pot.

That's why I don't get TOO bent out of shape no matter who's in the white house. Massively effecting policy is the equivalent of turning an oil tanker on a dime. Most of the time we just keep floating forward.

And if you want to cite Obamacare as a massive policy change, I believe that will right itself and come more center right after the next person is in.

Just like on Seinfeld. Even Steven.
