Go see 'Snowpiercer'. It's a film that's going to stick in your head for a while.

The plot goes like this: After an attempt to artificially cool the earth's atmosphere due to the effects of global warming, everything living on the planet has been wiped out, except for those who were on board a futuristically designed train called the Rattling Ark. The population of the train is controlled at a strict 74%, and the passengers are either classified as "those who belong in the front" (upper class), and "those who belong in the tail" ( considered expendable). One of those in the tail of the train is a man named Curtis, played by Chris Evans (Captain America himself), who after 17 years of suffering in the back with no sunlight and only "protein blocks" for food, wages a revolution in order to reach the front of the train and it's engine room, which is operated by a man known as Wilfred.

This is a very, very good film, one that I can envision receiving nominations at award time. It's exceptionally violent; the way people in the back of the train are punished for their actions against the guards is somewhat unsettling. I will admit the ending is not what I had expected; I hope there is an alternate ending on the Blu Ray release that could be more satisfactory. The ending aside, this film is thrilling and thought provoking.

    Grade: A-

I've been hearing good stuff about Snowpiercer. I have to see where it's showing, since I don't think it's at the theater I normally go to.

I got halfway through it and turned it off. Rediculous premise, bad effects and even worse acting.
